I'm glad that you show the unsuccessful hunts as well as the successful ones. I know that we all have days that don't turn out like we would want it to, but these are the days that teach us about hunting. Thank you.

As someone from Ohio and whose hunted hunted whitetail all my life and have boon&crocket bucks on my wall my best advice is don’t rattle or grunt late season after the rut it just scares them and makes them timid best bet in Washington is timber creepin or spotting one

I’m curious if you carry a handgun while hunting. I justified buying a “ Glock 20 chambered in 10mm “ for self defense against wild animals while I’m out hunting. Just wanted to know if you had a handgun while you were hunting around those Wolves.
@SamongOutdoors4 жыл бұрын
It just depends on the hunt. If I'm carrying a rifle, I usually don't carry a handgun.

If you walk around you only chasing Deer for others
@johngeddes78942 жыл бұрын
When you saw that dominant buck and didn’t follow up on him because he was 40 yards past your intended limit, you arbitrarily just passed up an opportunity and kept glassing. The successful hunter makes these kind of sightings which are the difference between freezer meat or nothing at all. To each their own. Not going to try and figure this out, its a wasted opportunity.
@SamongOutdoors2 жыл бұрын
What dominant buck are you talking about?
@johngeddes78942 жыл бұрын
The one that was 340 yards away. A spike got run off by another deer. In other vids, you made plans on the spot to get a shot, but in this vid you kept glassing. Anyway, its not to troll you. I just thought you passed up a gift. Too late in the day? Wind problematic? I just got done watching Cliff Gray in one of his vids talk about becoming one of the 5% that gets 90% of game by turning a little luck into harvesting the game he’s after.
@SamongOutdoors2 жыл бұрын
@@johngeddes7894 Gotcha. The reason why I didn't pursue him was because it was two spikes. A spike chasing off another spike. I kept glassing because they were in a wideopen clearcut and I was trying to relocate them but never could again once they ran past the clearcut
@johngeddes78942 жыл бұрын
Ok, that makes sense. Sometimes the big bucks just aren’t where you want them.
