As early man evolved from hunter gatherer - to business man - math (algebra, geometry, calculus, etc.) was/is one of the great hallmarks of civilization. It's so interesting that three and four thousand years ago advanced mathematics existed at all - and was used in creating enduring buildings through time. I love that you guys take me to places I'd love to go on my own. I look forward to your adventures as much as you do. See you next week!

(Baz) Hi Murray, when I Googled Pythagoras and learnt about all the other stuff he did that he's not so famous for I was blown away. What a forward thinking guy. Plus that they managed to make the two tunnel ends meet in the middle = MIND BLOWN. It's such a pity that it was closed. Thanks for watching and we'll see you next week too. Cheers. 🍻

Samos is beautiful and your video confirms this. Did you come across the Iliad Cafe on the waterfront in Pythagoreio? It's owned and run by Sandy Karidis, a New Zealander whose late husband was Greek. Absolutely delightful lady who makes everyone feel very welcome. Worth a visit if you ever return to Samos.

Hi both. Long time no “speak’. Hard to believe it is over a year since you left San Pedro. We watch your vlog every Saturday morning. It’s part of our routine, even when we’re back in Spain on Aquarela 😀Definitely one of our KZbin faves (helps that we know just how nice and genuine you are from personal experience!). Anyway there was a reason for getting in touch. I replaced the element on our calorifier earlier this year. I couldn’t source a 50mm hex either but I was able to do it using an adjustable wrench. Bit of a bugger and you need to be careful not to damage fitting but needs must and all that. Also, with the ‘o’ rings it’s well worth buying a kit. Widely available on Amazon and not massively expensive. Got the idea from Sailingbritaly. Hope to catch up with you guys again when we’re cruising full time. Safe travels and fair winds. Jon & Sharon

Hi Jon & Sharon, thanks for saying hello. If you're still in Marina Salinas late 2020 we might well be dropping by. We dedicated a whole video to the install process. kzbin.info/www/bejne/rmTMdKGhg7msY6s There's no way to get an adjustable wrench around the hex head because of a metal lip on the heater. When do you expect to be cruising full time? Cheers, Barry & Aannsha. 😀 🍻 👍

Ahh. I remember now🙈. The fitting is different to ours. We’ve moved a short way up the coast to Torrevieja (long/boring story). Will be there until at least next spring when we hope to move onboard full time. After that who knows. Sure we can engineer a meet at some point 👍.

Looking at the deposits on that heating coil, If you have the room to do it, maybe you should consider putting in a water filter on the line between the water maker and the water tank.

It is a big item on our wish list to have a water maker. Those deposits on the element were just from local water in the vaious countries will filled up our fresh water tanks at. An in line filter still sounds like a good suggestion though. Thanks Kmurray.👍

Not hard to do find some angle iron that will go on each side of the Nut say 3 sides and go to a welding shop and have them weld 3 bits of rod to the angle iron so it becomes a socket ,then use a screwdriver to turn the home made nut to undo the said element .Hope this helps you out lol. :)

Hey Mr G, no idea why they paint the paths white, maybe just to make it look attractive. The ponies were only there for the start of the season, the two guys were repairing the path and using the ponies to carry mortar up and loose stones and gravel down.

why not get a piece (or two) of flat steel - 2 or 3mm * 70+ mm and cut a 55mm wide piece out of it (them) with a hacksaw or grinder with cutting disc to fit the heating element? would only take a couple of minutes with a grinder..

Another well produced episode with bags of historical interested. You are aware that quite a few of the historical titles you put up as info are obliterated by the close captioned sub titles? Thanks for sharing and of course I am a subscriber.😀👍⛵️
@SailingABSea
@SailingABSea 5 жыл бұрын
Hi Norman, of course we know that you're a subscriber and we thank you for that. 👍😀 Closed captions can be turned on/off by the viewer. We put the closed captions in for two reasons. 1) It opens up our videos to viewers who have difficulty hearing. 2) It enhances our opportunity to be promoted by the KZbin algorithm. Screen real estate has to be optimised for viewers on all platforms: Large screen smart TV's, computer monitors, tablets, mobile phones and gaming consoles. However it will always be a balancing act getting everything perfectly positioned on screen to accommodate all viewers. We hope this goes some way to explaining why things look the way they do. If you watch on a smart TV then finding out how to turn on/off closed captions can be tricky. Maybe a google search for your particular model of TV may show the way. Cheers, Barry & Aannsha.

@SailingABSea
@SailingABSea 5 жыл бұрын
Hi Norman, Aannsha and I have had a chat about your suggestion and we have found a solution. You, the end user, can change the position of the closed caption sub titles. Once the video is playing and you have switched on the sub titles option, you can use your on screen cursor to move the sub titles to any position on the screen that you'd like. In our test we just moved them to the top of the screen and we were able to clearly see the historical titles at the bottom of the screen. We hope that helps.
