Top Moments for me 1) IF YOU ARE fighting change, you are fighting the future! Sam Ovens 2) Today’s results don’t come from today’s work and today’s actions. 3) Today’s results come from last year’s work 4) As humans 07:05 we are used to very fast feedback. We post on social media we get likes. We say ideas to friends and they give us feedback. As humans, we get feedback fast. 5) 8:24 lots of humans have not evolved long-term. 6) Main thing of your life is your nexus 7) If you are not getting awesome results now, it is due to what you did a year ago! Wow! Sam then goes on to talk about books. You might read a book. It may not work now. But over time, books you ready will make your life rich. Every book I’ve read has made me money. I applied things later on and got the reward later on. 8) Arc 19:18 he quit his job. He lived in parent’s garage. 1 year. By being poorer in 1 year, 9) 20:40 it is not from work we did today. It is from work 2 years ago. Thank you for this video Sam !

You can tell Sam knows Munger, Dallio, Koch etc. approaches inside out. As he seems to be all about objective rational truth which is refreshing, not the random opinionated, ego fuelled crap out there. These videos seem simple but they are deadly when applied. Which explains Sam's killer mindset, culling ego/not falling to cognitive biases, just the pure truth. I'm in the process of developing this mindset myself, because without the Munger, Dallio level of cognitive frameworks, where most of the battle is won from that quality of decision making, I think you can't hit elite level's. Can see Sam as a Carl Icahn type character with huge PE fund.
@samovenstv6 жыл бұрын
You know your stuff Brandon! Icahn is one of my favorites... I've read all of his books and studied every deal he's done!
@clubgel6 жыл бұрын
Thanks. That's mad coincidence about Icahn (just swapped the brooklyn accent for a kiwi one) I don't use social media for personal and only follow very few people as I seek out the people who synthesise the best information like you. My cousin went to Dan Pena castle and from him I learnt literally have to have black belt level of mentors and information you allow into your system. I would love to see a future video/your take, on what you hinted at in an older video, when it comes to reading people, from their social profiles, freudian slips, psychology etc. It's like Ray Dallio in his book covers Internal descision making, working with others in company (internal), but rarely see information on reading external people talked about, which is obviously key skillset.

I think the reason people tend to 'jump around' is because of the dopamine reward that comes from starting something new. Since the real rewards may be two years in the future, that immediate feeling is often all they have. We're all like that in some way-it just depends on the area of interest. However, if you really want to become good at something, you can't afford yourself to do that.

Best advice! Trust in the compounded effect. Few people, if any can even compete with that. In health and fitness. In wealth and business. Invisible asset and advantage. You cannot recover the time you left un-invested. Don’t make the mistake of diluting your focus with too many things...or choosing a single thing and giving up too soon.

Hey Sam! I joined consulting accelerator last June. This journey of starting a business with your help has without a doubt been one of the biggest highlights of my life. I finally feel positive and in control, I'm so so thankful for who you are and what you do. The video blogs are excellent, so enlightening. It's reassuring to hear that all the efforts will pay in the future, there are always those moments when you begin to doubt.

Yep! I'm an infp and started to just reach these insights after years of struggle and confusion... So, I'm glad to see someone with Ni hero so calmly and rationally lay it out. It helps a lot as personally I'm not very good at long term thinking at all. Strategizing was a challenge. My long term thinking has been more in terms of how my behaviors, actions and words affect the people around me long term. Anyhow, love this. Only found Sam about a week ago.

For the amazing value of Sam's course, it is really a cheap course. I think he knows that his course is cheap, but he isn't raising the price for instant gratification. Sam knows that satisfied clients will return much more in the future. This is an amazing lesson. I love to see how this business is going in the right direction.

the most impressive thing for me is that while that was the best month of his entire career instead to chill and enjoy the success of it, he was here making youtube videos trying to generate even more of that leverage in some future. I love this man. You can teach to people how to do something but you can give them the obstinacy to keep wanting more even when they get there. And that's something only few humans are gifted to have :)

Great video that helped me feel more positive today. I've been letting WAY too much negative news into my mind. Instead I should be focusing on my daily habits for life and business. You nailed me on the ADD, impatient, "if it doesn't have an effect that I can see today." And you're exactly right - much as I hate admitting it sometimes, our results and circumstances TODAY represent our actions of 2-4 YEARS ago. Hard pill to swallow if you're not where you want to be right now, but you HAVE to take it.

Thank you Sam! I’ve been listening to you and almost all of your videos... I have made some bad business decisions and of course invested money that I haven’t received ROI due to it not being a part of my purpose. Today is a new day and this is the day that I’m not going to be a talker of what I want to do or day dream about it. I used to be the opposite, where my actions were up front and my words confirmed. I am willing to change my mindset to once again be a doer and less of a talker. I’m signing up for the consulting course today.
