when my nephew was like 12 or 13, I took him and his sister on a spring bike ride. we are on the road, and were just cresting after a steep climb (for them) and as we began the descent, I said to him, don't go ahead of us, keep your brakes on to control your speed, we have to make a left hand turn in the middle of the hill. he's a 13 year old boy so I knew he wouldn't listen 🙄 away he goes. and like I said this is the spring after a long icy winter, so that intersection being on a hill had been heavily sanded and salted. when he hits the turn he's got too much speed, and the wheels slide right out from under. hoping to put a different psychological spin on the incident as quickly as possible, I shouted something like "dude that was amazing!! I wish you could have seen it from my angle!" and boy was he pissed at me for saying that 🤣 but it was kind of true, he came out of it mostly unscathed, and somehow managed to get away without any road rash. though I think there was something broken about his bike after that (maybe the pedal?) but he was able to ride it home.

Loving the trials stuff! Quick note on kick starting your GasGas, they have a quadrant gear which moves across and engages with a idler gear. this quadrant gear is not strong sideways so if you kick it hard form the top of its travel you can snap the quadrant gear sideways if a tooth misalignment occurs. if you can, gently push the kicker down till you feel it has engaged properly then stand on it.They are not like dirt bikes that have ratchet/dog style kick starts that you can just kick. Replacement quadrant gears are about $140, learn from my mistakes.

definitely want to see more trials. you need to clutch and throttle or just throttle it again when you tires about to touch the log. you'll shoot right up and land on your back wheel. i too used to do it as a young guy and now mtb instead to be safer in getting old. hahaha MORE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
