TENNIS BALL TYRES ON MY MOUNTAIN BIKE!

Tennis ball tyres on my mountain bike is incredible!! I modify my Canyon slopestyle bike to fit tennis balls instead of tyres and shred a bike park before hitting a stair set of doom and drifting in the streets! Would you ride this MTB?
With Wimbledon around the corner I decided to fit 32 Tennis ball's to each wheel and fit them to my mountain bike for the ultimate bike challenge. With the tennis tyres fitted to my Canyon stitched 720 slopestyle bike it was time to hit up Twisted oaks bike park and see what was possible with such tyres on my bike. After the the first ride down and easy trail I knew I was in for a fun day because It completed changed the way the bike moved around and it made cornering absolutely crazy! I proceeded to shred the bike park until a huge crazy on a barspin that made us change locations to a massive stair set of doom which worked surprisingly well. But that's not all, there was a bonus drift section to be had too! Would you ride this bike?

Wow! That's crazy! Closest thing I've ever done to drift like that was bike down a hill on my grandpa's farm after harvest when the tractor had smashed all the straw flat. Slam on the brakes near the bottom and drift for 15 feet. I was about 13 and doing it on a 1970s kids bike with a banana seat lol. I miss those days.

I can actually see how this has fundamental gains for riding roots and mud. Sorta like my dad pulling the seat off and unhooking the rear brake of my yz80 to get me to stand up and use my front brake. Made me way, way, WAY faster.

Yes Sam! Gregg Minnar will have those on his bike next as he’d only loose 3 tennis balls instead of three races due to punctures 😂 or was it two races. Love the idea! I remember encountering my first stair set of doom in the mid 1980’s on a Raleigh Chopper with small front wheel not fairing well and me going over the handlebars! Hayes & Harlington train station if anyone wants to try it. No idea if it still the same but the first set were painted black steel into two sets of concrete full of stones. Needless to say it hurt!

Loved this. I feel like it would be much better with only one hole in each ball rather than a hole all the way through. My guess is that it would feel less sluggish. Also, drilling the holes out with a sharpened metal tube of the proper diameter rather than a twist drill bit will help the holes to not tear out as easily. Best of luck.
