I recommend the other sections of this module for a future video.

It took me 5 years to actually wrap my head around S & H. I could never get a clear explanation, and you nailed it. hope you're well

Very cool video! I'm always impressed by what Sputnik has to offer... I'd love to create a system based off of their models someday. I constantly use S&H in my patches. A very effective use is to have it slightly randomize the volume of hi hats or even the decay of their envelope to create a kind of randomized open/close sound.

Great example, percussive sounds of all sorts benefit from a little volume or decay modulation! I prefer randomizing them as well...!

I use the SnH of the Volca modular as a guitar effect. It gives a Bit Crusher type effect if you sample the guitar sound at audio rate. Now a funny thing happened ( 8 years have passed and I doubt the content creator monitors the comments anymore) I came here because as I have just learned about PULSAR SYNTHESIS I was wondering if i could do some kind of SnH but with silent gaps and low and behold! I see this PULSE input with the alternating double outputs. I wonder .....if I just used one output, ...wouldn't it be silent when its brother is firing off? Can I cv control their ratio as well?

I use these applications, but also sample-rate reduce audio signals. I have the SSF Ultra Random. The Sputnik has some unique features. Nice!

Yes, the sample reduction effect is great as well, maybe a future video... :)

Never understood S/H before, thanks. I can think of useful stuff to do with an arpeggiator.
