a patch i recently tried was using a kick drum and basic utilities like an envelope follower and comparator to create a self cycling kick. can then use that same EOC to a sample and hold. works as a nice bass voice and also for krelling but with an audible envelope signal

Great tips, Jonas. Thanks. I used to view S n' H as Random start phase on a certain pulse-like wave that had been modulated (and I partly blame certain digital synths for this misunderstanding) BUT when I bought U-he's Bazille and read the manual and experimented on that one then I really got the feel for S n' H...at least in soft modular. I do need to try more subtle modulation with some common and uncommon destinations. Making a NOTE. :)

Sometimes i wonder why would you use Ableton and an Elektron and a substantial Modular? Too much work! Excess!? Gratuitous and superfluous.

Hey, I try to show different techniques/ideas to create a specific sound on different sources to emphasize that its possible in a DAW (for free basically), in Eurorack or a common hardware Synth as well. Some artists may use only daws and perhaps wouldn't understand when I only demonstrate it in my modular case and vice versa of course. Anyway, hope you liked it :)

@@ThomannSynthesizers i did really. I shot the messenger- sorry about that. Too much gear, in the shop window as it were; it can overshadow the creative spark. It might be interesting to foreground a presentation more explicitly showing how you can indeed do much of this with free/cheap software and dampen down the temptation to have everything! Anyway, i need to get a grip. Not your fault and i did enjoy this and others. But, a step towards simplicity would be welcome.
