Nice overview of the saxes. I just got the trumpet a few days ago, and I am seriously considering getting these bad boys too. Just a little point, by the way. The vibrato function is great from the mod wheel, but because of the sensitive playability of these instruments, it is actually very easily controlled both in intensity and speed from the breath controller.

Hi Yannick! This was really entertaining! Especially towards the end when everything comes together. Could you please do a video on how you mixed/mastered that track? Or pick any of your other projects? Thanks a lot!

Incredible demo!!! Really great!!! I'm in a classic rock cover band and I'm looking to add realistic saxes and brass for live performance. I just purchased a TEControl breath controller but, as far as Samplemodeling's saxes are concerned, I've been debating whether to get the SWAM version or the Kontakt version (I'm totally new to the world of virtual instruments). Your demo is super helpful in seeing what the SWAM version is capable of. Aside from playing sax parts (Foreigner, Billy Joel, Genesis, etc.), I eventually want to be able to layer instruments and/or create different zones on my keyboard for trombone, and saxes. I'd love to do be able to do Genesis' "No Reply At All" in a live setting (I'd probably need to sequence the keyboard parts...lol).

Hi, well impressed how you get that realistic sound, must of taken many hours to get it sounded like the real instruments. CHEEKY QUESTION......would you be willing to produce some sax solo's for a few of our tribute band tracks (we don't have a brass section)

These are a plugin for Kontakt? I'm new to the production scene, right now I'm just learning the MPC Studio, but damn these are incredible, would love to learn more.
@DangerConGame9 жыл бұрын
TrueGateGaming Exactly, some are for Kontakt and some come with their own engine, it's called 'SWAM'. But it can all be hosted in the most contemporary hosts, I use Cubase 5. Cheers

Hello Yannick, what is the difference between the Sample Modeling 'SWAM based Saxaphones' and the 'Kontakt based Mr Sax Vst's'. Thanks

Hi! Best to my knowledge the SWAM based Saxes are the Mr Sax's successors. Cheers

One last question Yannick, have you used any EWI's, like the Akai EWI or the New Roland Aerophone? How does the breath controller compare with the EWI's. Thank you.
@DangerConGame7 жыл бұрын
No I have not so far. Tecontrol does the job perfectly so I was never tempted to try the others.

Yannick Zenhäusern Yeah I've loved the sound of saxophone ever since I heard it it on this song called Calabria, by Enur. I've been listening to a lot of songs lately that feature saxophones too, and I'm like, "I GOT to have that on one of my tracks."
@DangerConGame9 жыл бұрын
I can assure you my friend, get one of these, spend a shitload of time learning how to use it, mix and master it right and you'll have a blast! I've had the same experience and still have now working on my new album :)
