So let's say I'm looking in to "how companies changed their marketing techniques due to the pandemic" Should I have sub populations of different types of businesses? Then the sample frame would be for instance, restaurants and brick&mortar?

Hi@Jace Cole. Thank you for writing. Let me put your doubt using examples again. Let say the list of Companies/businesses (Population) are A, B C D E. Within each company/business of interest says there are A1, A2, A3...An (Sub-population). Similarly the same goes for B C D E. Now, when you decide to collect your samples from any of the sub populations (either A B C D or E) Let say selected Subpopulations are B and D, then your samples will be B1 B2 B3...Bn /D1 D2 D3...Dn for B and D, respectively Your sample frames are B and D. If we are taking 100 students from 1000 students then can we say that 100 students list is sample frame? Please tell me sir?

Hi @Ananya. Allow me and let me put it this way. Let say you want to take 100 students as a sample from the student population of 1000. Now, let say, we divide the 1000 students into 4 subpopulation 1-250; 251-500; 501-750; and 751-1000 Now let assume you pick 50 students from 251-500 group and 30 from 1-250 and 20 from 751-1000. These 100 students are your samples and each and every student included in the 100 samples are the sampling unit and The sampling frame groups are 251-500;1-250; and 751-1000 I hope this will help.
