@@mpchead I’ve been watching your videos and I’ve noticed that common theme. I’ve been applying it in that when I listen to a sample it doesn’t have to fit the project I’m on. I’m just looking for something about it I can work with and when I pitch and stretch I have been finding sooo many one shots and licks to add to my beat. I went from sampling one song at a time to multiple now :)

I have a few questions, if anybody would care to answer I would greatly appreciate it .. I have scrimped and saved for a couple of years and can finally afford some equipment. I would love to start making beats. This method of sampling but also playing the keys seems like something I want to experiment with. I also want to make my own sounds, or buy like a software where I can kind of tweak my own sounds. What equipment would be best for this? I have done a bit of research but it seems like there is so much equipment idk where to start. I need a midi-controller, some headphones, software like ableton and maybe a sampler like akai professional mpc. Does this sound like a good place to start, is it too much, or am I missing something? I know this is a lot of questions and a long read but any kind of feedback is welcome🙏🏽

the last thing I think about is bpm, I just find the cuts that work. I play around with a lot of cuts until I settle for one.
