You could sample anything with this, you could take a synth sound or a piano sound or anything and play it, then you can take some unusual sounds and take things with no musical use and use the waveforms it creates to create a tone which has a more obvious creative use. Plus you could record your voice at the end like he did and use it almost like a vocoder, or turn your voice into a quartet by sampling and playing back. You could sample drums and use as a drum machine. Just think creatively.

You forgot the crucial "looks like a professional audio application" vs. "looks like unicorn diarrhea" comparison. Seriously Samplewiz is one of my favorite audiomangling apps on the ipad, but a far less noisy aesthetic would be a lot easier to work with.

I think the video is centered more about functionality than trying to impress everyone with amazing sounds. I can think of some useful things to do with some of the capabilities SampleWiz provides and maybe some of the things Samplr has. Functionality alone, I am sure you can think of things you could do with it.

Well, even if we skip the obvious "why wouldn't you try to impress people with amazing sounds if it's capable of doing them"... I seriously can't think of anything for this. Maybe my imagination just got busted but I really wanna hear someone doing something that actually sounds good with these tools.

You would think Master Musician Jordan Rudess would know the difference between a delay and reverb.

Whats with the negativity. If you dont like it, dont buy it. This video showed very well what you can do with 2 apps with no favoritism. Whats better than that? Why focus on mistakes? Its like you watch videos to find imperections and then blow those nothing mistakes out of proportion. Very sad.

gee, does Jordan mention anywhere that he's president of Wizdom Music, the maker one of the products he's reviewing here -- Samplewiz. that's a clear conflict of interest.

+Rob Wright …I think Jordan does an excellent job recommending EACH instrument for it's own distinctive features. They are both good tools, but each artist may prefer a different tool for his particular application. In the end, I'll probably use both.

Not to sound cynical, but everything in this video sounded... for lack of a better word... horrible. I can't think of any practical uses for this piece of software. Are there any? I mean yeah I guess it's "coooll" to make a horrible mess out of some real sounds but when the novelty wears off it's just that... a horrible mess. :/
