Awesome review. My wife and I love this park and the history. We live just 2 hrs away and it is a gem. So glad you enjoyed it. NY has wonderful state parks. Safe travels and hope to see you guys one day. Love following along your journey. We are still working full time. 5 more years!!!

ATT was poor. Verizon and T-Mobile were good. Best time of year would probably early summer or early Fall. Before or after kids and before or after the heat. :)

Posing this a little late, but I live close to Sampson, and use to visit frequently. It is very clean and a great place to camp, my family stopped going there because of the park rangers. They are disrespectful and we have had problems with them, if you do something wrong, I.e riding a bike on the grass without helmet, they will report to to a higher person. Also if you are loud after 9pm they will send rangers. Basically if they don't like you they will find a million things to pin you on. A dog on a chain under a tree while everyone is outside, is apparently animal abuse. Thy told us to not tie up our dog, but all dogs must be on a leash. I wouldn't recommend going here.
