I don’t understand the “mixing section” where the little headphone icon. For single mic worst would be the best. And if I put it on headphone would that allow me or someone else to be able to hear what the mic is picking up live ? It’s that what it’s for playback?

This Samson is definitely a good start for a low budget setup, and still better than onboard camcorder mics. The handheld sounded like it was distorting at the mic element itself, which is when you would turn down the gain with that screwdriver ever so slightly. FYI, most wireless mics in the early days all had gain adjustments like that. Currently those adjustments are digital in the transmitter's menu system. I recently used a similar model Samson for a teacher, and replaced the awful lavaliere with a low cost headset mic. That made all the difference! Finally, a great next step for a wireless system would be the Audio Technica System 10 digital camera system at around $400, give or take.

I know it has only 2 channels. Does that mean at maximum, the receiver only can receive 2 simultaneous sources from 2 mics? What happens when a 3rd mic is used?

Would I have to purhcase a hot shoe mount screw separately?

On the receiver, looks like with the "Out" switch (headphone icon) you could maybe plug in headphones and have someone also monitor sound from behind the camera? Is that what that means?

What camera did you use... my note 9 didn't work when videotaping had to use an audio app? (Audio only)

Great review! I am looking for a lapel mic similar to the one in this video (easy integration with iPhone). However, I am looking for something with higher audio quality. Any recommendations?

I experienced audio drop offs in my apartment since I have wifi and neighbors too, so I returned mine and got me a 20ft lapel mic for phones at Staples and it sounded better AND no audio drop offs since it’s plugged in directly to the phone 👍😁👌

Interesting review. I have sen different reviews, some of who love the Lavalier option and speak highly of its sound quality. What if you buy a better quality microphone for the system, and keep this one as your second lavalier mic?

At around 7 minutes, without background noise, I thought the lavaliere sounded better.

Eh, I looked into wireless audio but in the end I just got a Zoom H1 and plugged a mic into it and then mixed it with the video. It is really easy and if you are going to edit the video in any way it really isn't that big of an inconvenience. I bet anything a cheap external audio recorder blows this out of the water also. EDIT: Yeah, audio though the Zoom H1, just the Zoom with a foam windscreen, is 10,000% better. Plug a nice mic into it and it even gets better.

This is a very good solution, those Zoom recorders are excellent.

I recently ordered the new Behringer dual mic 2.4 GHz system. I sent it back two days later. Complete crap shoot whether it would work or not, presumably based on what 2.4 GHz wifi channel is in use near you. I simply couldn't take the risk of it not working in a situation where I wanted to use a wireless microphone. 2.4 GHz has become largely useless for wifi in general, and if you imagine any gathering of people is likely to be a bluetooth swamp (same frequency band) you just can't depend on an audio device using that band unless it's very well designed. In that case, it would be just as expensive as a good 500 MHz wireless system. I'd just say no.

We purchased TWO complete packs... This system is not pairing with the skype app, which is the format we use to broadcast on the IPhone... The system will NOT work at all on the Huawei phones! I emailed & asked specifically if it would work with my new phone prior to purchase, I was advised IT WOULD! Over $600 on 2 systems with extra mics, NONE Work for our broadcasting!

Very helpful review. Ive wondered about this mic kit. It sounds fair for the price. I would expect some interference and audio dropouts with that kit as you demonstrated but still price point is low for those who might not have the professional audio needs. Good recomendation to replace the lav mic on the kit as im sure ut would help sound quality. I use the Senheiser kits also and yes those are expensive but on a pro level which is a must when your doing a shoot where you cant have any audio problems either at live events or dont want to reshoot.
