Kia Orana te iti Tangata, Mana Tiaki. Beautiful song. I'm a NZ Born Kuki living in Rarotonga. Its So true in some ways, love our schoools here, they teach the te reo kuki airani from preschool to grade 6. Our Cook Islands Dancing is strong, but today I see its more infused with Tahitian costumes and dance actions to make it fresh and entertaining. The old Kuki Airani style of dance is the most delicate graceful and beautiful style of dancing some may call boring but it's ours and admired by all countries and I am teaching my kids that syle so they pass it down when they have kids. I live the Island life e tanagata kuki Airani and can't see me and my family being anywhere else in the world. So if you want to embrace your Culture, COME HOME TO YOUR ISLAND . Oro Mai Aere Mai. Kia Orana E kia Manuia.

i love this song it means alot to me. growing up only listening to kuki music but not understanding the reo, this got me in my feels lol when i asked my mum why she never taught me she said in school they weren't allowed to speak island and if they did they would get into trouble or smacked so when she moved to NZ before having me she believed English was the only way to go and my grandparents would speak island but also never taught us so we couldn't be nosy lol, not realizing the effects. Im not mad at them but wish i knew more :D thanks Samson squad for sharing this No:1

Love the music y’all continue to bring out!💙💙❤️❤️ this honestly makes me proud to be a Cook Islander 🇨🇰🇨🇰 and also makes me so much prouder to know that there are others out in this world that also realize that our culture and language are so much more than just a show! This is something we need to talk about a lot in our youth discussion because prior to now a lot of our children now a days don’t know how to speak our language or are embarrassed to be called and islander especially living here in Australia! Music like this is what we need in order to show this Generation and the next that our culture and our language are what define us and make us who we are and that we should never be ashamed of where we are from! Be proud of where you are from and your heritage because these are the things that define us and make us stronger! Keep up the good work fam 💙💙❤️❤️🇨🇰🇨🇰🇨🇰🇨🇰🇨🇰🇨🇰💙💙❤️❤️💕💕

I may not understand our Language and I don't speak the language as well, as much as I wish I could speak my language and to understand it I know I would of loved it so much, I wish my grandparents got to tech me on our to speak it, but they never got the chance to do that for me.
Kua iti te ra ki runga I te enua (The sun rises upon the earth) Uri uri, keu keu, te kare o te moana (Turning and shifting, the ocean foams) Akarongo ki te tangi o te manu te kota’a (Listen to the cries of the great frigate birds) Aue, Aue te vene reka (Oh, oh how sweet) Ch Taku kainga parataito, ruperupe (My home/island paradise, beautiful and lush) Mei apa Tonga ki apa Tokerau, ki nga pore e ‘a (From the south to the north, to all four corners) Kua toto’a to rongo ki to te ao nei (Your fame has spread to all of the world) Te Kuki Airani (The Cook Islands) Angiangi te matangi, aue te maru (The wind blows, oh so gently) E tiare kua pua, puera te manea (Flowers that bloom so beautifully) Taku kainga tupuna kia vai uatu rai (My ancestral home, may it last forever) Aue, aue te vene reka (Oh, oh how sweet) Ch Taku peu, toku iti tangata (My culture/customs, my people) Taku reo Maori (My Maori language) Taku peu, toku iti tangata (My culture/customs, my people) Te Kuki Airani (The Cook Islands) Something like that...lol
