I can honestly say from helping put together some friend's cars and my own over the years, that I've never seen another door handle assembly like that. Seems crazy overkill for a door handle removal 100%. Not sure what their motivation behind that design was, other than costing more money to replace it if/when it breaks haha. Thanks for the video!

Engineers don’t think about working on cars, at all. Just look at Ford. They’ll have a part held on by two screws, a rivet, 2 8mm bolts, one 5.5mm, and three 10mms plus a random T20 screw somewhere. It’s like ford engineers just grab handfuls of bolts and randomly use them.

Nex time, remove the window motor, lower the window, put the motor back on, pop those little clips for the window, remove the 10s around and those green t30s, the 3 t30s for the latch, reach up there and pop that orange clip that holds the handle rod. Then the entire black part will come out. Then you can get the 3 8mms outs very easy. The window will "set" itself. No need to take a video for a glass that snaps in. All dodges/chryslers past 2008 are like this. You should be able to gut that entire door in sub 20minutes.

Found a way to remove the door handle on this thing withouth that much hastle.

@@peej.w7598 all you need to do is drill a hole in the cover to access one of the two bolts on the side, you can use a gromet to cover it after and it looks like new. Then you can slide your hand in and temove the bolt by the plug, along with the connection. The connection takes a little to figure out how it snaps out, but after that it’s easy. Let me know if it work out for you. Saved us a ton of time and work liability

What a tedious job... but you removing it goes to show how meticulous you are at your job. I’m pretty sure other people/companies wouldn’t even bother removing it and just wrap over it.

what a stupid design, why wouldnt they make all door handles the same way with the singlebolt under the rubber plug, makes a wrap take way more time and stress to dissaseble

You didn’t have to do all of that. If you would of moved the plastic trim piece there is a small access hole to get the bolts out of the door handle.
