This channel got me back into the model train hobby. I got so many childhood flashbacks of my old layouts i made with my old man as a kid and i figured why not try it again. Definitely my favourite channel discovery of the tear.

Hi Sam, another great year on your channel. I still love the detail, honesty, enthusiasm, professionalism and pure fun that goes into your content. I know you get some critics who do not enjoy your presentation style or opinions; I have to admit I don't always agree with your review conclusions, but that's the fun of it, we all have different opinions and experiences with the hobby we love and everyone is entitled to their opinion and I am always happy to hear yours. In my opinion you are a great ambassador for our hobby and I appreciate everything you do. (As well as everything the lovely Chloe does to assist) So here's to you and a great 2025.

I have to say, Sam. Your videos have been some of the most entertaining and informative when it comes to model railways. The amount of money, time, and effort you put towards your reviews, experiments, and rankings never goes unappreciated. In fact, having gotten back into the hobby not too long ago, quite a number of your reviews have been helpful in how I’m going about working on and improving my own layout. And for those who can’t afford the hobby, just being given the opportunity to see your locomotives in action and getting a glimpse into your train world makes it a real treat for rail enthusiasts of all ages. So thank you, Sam, for delivering outstanding content for all of us and here’s to a happy and productive 2025. Cheers and happy new year! 🥂

Sam, I find your reviews fascinating and certainly thorough. I'm in my 70s and operated Hornby Dublo trains as a child...and still do as it happens! Some of my items are way over 60 years old and still work well. They were made for children to use as toys, so were rugged and lacked the detail seen today - but they have lasted well. Today's products are really for adults and wouldn't last long as 'toys'. Keep on doing what you do. Happy New Year!

Hello Sam. Well done mate, I haven't watched all the vidéos, but I have watched all the loco reviews. It would be really fun to see you do "vintage" video reviews of old locos from the 50's to 2000's, but judging them both by the standards of their time, but also a score compared to today. I think some of the results could be surprising, especially as far as ease of maintenance and quality are concerned ! Forget about DCC fitting and features though 😂😂😂. Thanks for 2024 and looking forward to 2025. All the best to you and Chloe from Western France. Rob

Happy new year Sam and thank you for the wonderful content this year!! Also Sam, I need to contact you about a model manufacturer that could reach next year’s number 1 spot! I have a few samples I can show you, or check out Auscision models. Super crisp paint, seperately fitted parts and no visible glue, etched grilles, painted detailed cabs with crews, DCC ready or fitted with sound, knuckle couplings, and super super detailed diagrams and instructions for care and settings for the decoders. I think you might appreciate their attention to detail, however they are all Australian trains, and can be slightly on the more pricey side, but I think that it’s reflected in the product.

Hey Sam, not sure if I caught every video this year but I rarely miss one. Every time there's a new upload I generally watch that to wind down after a long day at work. Your content is always honest and genuine and always something interesting whether it's experiments, railways visits, and of course reviews. I think the highlight of the year for me was watching you eat the Bachmann catalogue advertisement card. (I sometimes wish I could see people's reactions the first time they see you shred one of those haha). Been a subscriber for years and always looking forward to more. Have a great break and wishing you and Chloe a very happy new year. Cheers mate.

Hi, Sam. Your videos have always been great. I have been a long time subscriber for around eight years, as I came across your channel from IC82’s channel, and I have loved almost everything you put out. I usually watch your videos most evenings after my work before bed, or sometimes after dinner at home, and try to catch your livestreams when I can, and I loved your livestream with Jess, and some of your funny videos are great too. I hope you bring Salvage Or Scrap back, and I sometimes laugh when you do goofs in your videos, example, when a box of coaches falls off your pile of boxes, and that makes me laugh, and I have interest in model trains and railways too, and that’s why I watch your videos and I am thankful to watch them, and having Chloe on board (see? Get it?) for some of the videos is a great laugh too, and it’s amazing and hopefully you had a wonderful Christmas and a have a fantastic New Year and hopefully I will see you for a new video in the new year. Definitely do some more reviews and other projects, and you do you, with what you do. I would be happy if you post a video on my birthday again like you did this year, and I appreciate that, and thank you. Have a fantastic New Year and see you again soon.

Like always Sam, you got a very good channel and I'm a huge fan of your loco reviews, to me one of the best on the internet. Don't care much about the grading system, it's just the overview on the loco where you always try to do your best to be subjective in a constant mannor, and this I appreciate very much. Also you know I like your era 1 productions, but I do hope you consider in the future also the possibility of an unassembled version? What I also like Is your view how to repair or revive something that is broken, or is a bad design, like the exchange for a better motor like the Oxford motor, and charing the 3d prints with us for it for free. So I wish you and Chloe a happy new year, and looking forward to a new release of Era 1 stock. cheers, Danny

Thank you for doing all this stuff Sam. A mix of seriousness and hilarity in your particular style is always such a joy for unwinding the day, and it keeps us informed about OO as well. We do hope you will be doing some new mad and bonkers experiments again any time soon. They are the most of fun hahah. You'll think of new ideas surely. Had we been in OO, in all fairness, we'd be going for Bachmann. The reason simply being that they always come out flawlessly RTR; always the highest consistent quality and reliable. For us those are our main concerns tbh. The rest is nice to have. Of course, it comes at a price but we are used to that in the Continental European H0 world. Thank you so much again, and a great 2025 for you Cloe and your families 🎄✨🎍

Just a suggestion- I would like for you to do a comparison video, ie comparing an HO scale locomotive made by Hornby under one of their subsidiaries Rivarossi, or Jouef, to one of Hornby’s OO gauge locomotives, or even rolling stock. Thanks for a great year of content Sam, and happy new year to you to. In regards to the grading system, I do think you have been a bit more critical in your reviews this year, but I think that is because this year feels like we've had some of the most egregious price increases in recent times. If the manufacturers are going to increase prices faster than inflation, then their models better match that in quality, and that certainly has not been the case with several this year. I personally have no issue with prices increasing, as long as what we are buying is improving.
