you dont need to buy the original Battery Pack you can buy any 40 bucks powerbank as long as it supports 50/60 Watt PD USB C and there are many out there. Works fine for example with the Xiami MI 50W Powerbank. and prices have fallen to more realistic area of 5-600 - so where it ranks now in ur oppinion?

If for some reason I was getting a portable projector (which I wouldn't cause I'd lose so much for the ability to run off battery) I would get the Freestyle because having Netflix and a swivel stand is in line with what I expect a portable projector to be. I don't expect a portable projector to have great brightness or image quality or even HDMI inputs because I realize that's a trade off of true portability. I love the design and ability to power Freestyle from almost anything. It gives me the choice to make it more bulky with a battery or not and I can decide whether I want the nice 1st party accessory or a 3rd party power bank. There's even an adapter to power the Freestyle with a lightbulb socket, which is a bit silly but super cool. Freestyle is a really fun idea and fun is what a portable projector should be. I have an XGIMI Horizon that I move around the house fairly regularly and I still opted for it over a truly portable battery-powered projector so a true portable projector should be moving around quite frequently to justify the portability benefits that come with the performance hit. Basically, I think portable projectors should be portable above all else and Freestyle does that with Netflix, swivel stand, small size, and battery options. A lawnmower isn't a very good blender but it isn't trying to be a blender. Similarly, the Freestyle isn't a great TV replacement but it's not trying to be! It's a portable projector with all kinds of neat abilities that a TV doesn't have. Being small and stylish, accepting different power supplies, having a swivel stand, and having Netflix are all major benefits that make for a great portable projector. Very few other portable projectors offer any of those things. I wouldn't really recommend that anyone get a portable projector with a built-in battery over an outlet-only all-in-one projector like the XGIMI Horizon, but if I had to have the ability to run on battery or I needed something super small that I can put in a backpack, I would get the Freestyle. I love me some XGIMI and my semi-portable Horizon is great but for true portability, flexibility, and fun, there's nothing on the market that's anything like the Freestyle.

I own the projector. The cons are way worse that mentioned here. Brightness sucks for a projector of its price range. The ANSI is way lower close to 200-250 which is ridiculous. Also the so advertised automatic keystone /focus miss most.of the time - if you compare the same feature to an xgimi one you will see what I mean. Audio as.mentioned here also.too low..had so many expectations about this one

Saw it in hk at fortress and it sucks. 200 Ansi at that price and only 1 year warranty I’m going with Epson 3 year warranty 2500 Ansi but I can not find any reviews and heard it has bad white light on borders while small screen zoomed out. Epson eh-tw5705 for same price.

Ugh, typical Samsung, so frustrating. It's like they probably made the perfect projector and then decided to downgrade some of the components. I think I'll wait until the price gets below $500usd. I'd rather avoid the cheaper projectors, they all seem to have really annoying features like loud fans, uneven focus when having to utilize keystoning a bit, or terrible speakers. I think something must have been up with your Airplay, I've been able to get them to work on demo units I've played with.

Thanks for your review! It seems the biggest con you have with the projector is its laggy operating system. Have software updates fixed the problem? I've seen other videos of people flipping through the settings pretty quickly... For its price, brightness, sound, it seems like a pretty decent option. If Samsung has fixed the lagginess, I'd get it in a heart beat.

Surprised this supports e-Arc, if you connect via hdmi to atmos enabled soundbar you'd then get atmos surround, usually projectors only support arc via hdmi, you have to spend thousands normally to get e-Arc, Samsung should make more of a big deal about this.

I decided to break the bank and get one. It was this or the Galaxy tab S8 Ultra to replace my tab S7+... But this is a projector screen, and I've never had one myself. All my TVs are Samsung, and well, my phones are all Samsung devices xD it fits the family. Still trying to find a home for it in the house - wish the battery pack was available but it's not, so I may invest in a 3rd party power bank as long as it meets the input's specs. It's a great device, but I just got it today so we will see in a month from now.

I have the Anker nebula capsule but the interface is killing me. Somehow Netflix doesn't work anymore, it shows as the app isn't available on the nebula app. I like the projector but it's becoming very annoying to the point I'm thinking in getting the freestyle better.

13:10 Doesn't work on google pixels as well as iphone. Samsung's insistence on utilizing their outdated UI for navigation and their reluctance to support casting from apps beyond Netflix and KZbin is a massive oversight. As a result, a range of apps remain unsupported for casting-a glaring design flaw that's impossible to ignore. Save yourself the trouble and stay away from this product.

I have used it for almost two years the first gen one. Bought it for like 1000 dollars. I would say look for another projector. Because the freestyle projection quality isn’t that great. And it’s not that bright even at night. And for the speaker. Saying it’s 360-degree speaker. I say it’s Absolutely Gimmick and BS sound quality is average at best don't expect high-quality surround sound from it. And then the auto keystone and autofocus aren’t that good either. It would always be a blurry projection unless you have to manually focus it.

I think it's overpriced for what you get I have one and I'll tell you I'm happy with it but not for how much i paid. The OS is SLOW AF, the remote control is way too sensitive for the center button and the ring, projectors half this price has a better brightness and better quality. The sound all depends I'd you have a small room or not if you have a big room I suggest to connect a Bluetooth speaker to it it actually sounds amazing. Honestly this was expected this is there first one I'm looking forward to them fixing and tweaking this to be an ultimate portable projector especially for that damn price

Hello, I bought this freestyle for about half prize on black friday. Of course I saw thees bad revievs and I can return it to the shop if I want, but. Now it is dark and winter, no problems with sharpnes or coulors. Kids loves it and lays on floor and projekts to roof. All netflix, prime, cmore and localy streeming apps are ready on board, few isues to connect to wifi, after that no problem. Power cable is long, but it coud bee longer, and why that small usb and portabilyty without battery, why not bigger and moore stady power soket? Sound, normaly some 20-30, thats enough and kids are beside that projektor, no problems. Even whit lights on in this room, of course it coud bee brighter, but if I wants to see new on projektor with lights on, I see whats going on. That samsung acunt and double check in suks, First projektor for us, and I dont give it away.

Hello, Thanks for the great review! I bought one for 30% off, and pretty happy about the quality during night time (that is when I have time to use it). The picture quality on Netflix is very good (or I had low expectations) but my only problem is the subtitle is a bit blurry. Is there a way the adjust the focus on that? The screen on the other part is great. I am projecting on white wall by the way. Thanks!
