Great video. Excellent presentation. I hate that many 'Spec-heads' try and deter people from buying a device like this because it's not as fast as other phones in it's price range. But not everyone needs a powerful processor for gaming or power usage. Show me another phone at this price that that gives you an amoled screen, usb-c quick charging, ip68 rating, good build quality and excellent battery life! As a painter and decorator the ip68 rating is very appealing and I think Samsung should be commended for giving us an innovative phone at an affordable price.

I don't see what 'innovation' you're talking about, there's no new technology here. Also, it's true that not everyone needs the best performance, but you can definitely get much better phones for battery life. The Lenovo p2 and moto z play, and other xiaomi phones like the Redmi 3s and note 4 are way better.

Brilliant review. After watching this I picked an A3 2017 up off eBay for £168 that's been used for just a day and is immaculate. I'm coming from an iPhone SE as I particularly need dust proofing and as powerful as the SE is on paper, I find it does lag at times when switching between apps. It certainly doesn't feel as fast as Geekbench would suggest, especially compared to Xiaomi and Huawei phones that I've previously owned. The SE is great, but just a bit too small and I think the 4.7" display together with Android will make this the ideal phone for me. Thanks for the great review and what a backdrop! We don't seem to get proper snow in the UK anymore.

Major problem for me is support for microSD cards. Samsung do not allow the microSD card to be configured as internal storage as marshmallow android will allow. Most apps can only be stored on internal storage and most apps store content on internal storage by default. And some apps don't allow content to be moved to external storage for licencing reasons. So the microSD card can only be used for the camera. The only other notable exception is Stitcher for podcasts. So the 16Gb of internal storage will soon be eaten up - after only a few days I'm down to having only 5Gb of internal storage left. I've complained to Samsung but they just say this is the way it is, no compromise.

Some of the shots of the front facing camera were a little blurry because the front facing camera has a wide aperture. You have to hold it at a certain distance to your face to get the sharpest result, since it's a fixed focus lens. It would have been better if Samsung made it auto focus with facial recognition.
@TechLineHD8 жыл бұрын

Hi, yes. As I said in the review "A Non-removable 2350 mAh battery will not impress any spec-head but I was able to get over 5 hours of SOT while using the phone quite intensively. I used it for taking lots of pictures, browsing the web, watching videos or even playing some 3D games. That is a very impressive result".

I really like the bigger brother to this the a5 2017. I don’t really play games so I might not be the best opinion but I have heavy nova launcher mod and it’s great. Also I was a bit unsure when looking at this phone ( before I chose the a5) because of the 720p screen. These phones feel great. Unless you try to play really power intensive games all these phones run very well. My only complaint is that these phones don’t have a version of lineage os. To fix the touchwiz type os make sure you are running marshmallow not nougat and go to Samsung galaxy store and download good lock. Or go to all mirror and do the equivalent. Then go to play store and download nova launcher (prime if you can afford it), Gboard and google apps to replace the Samsung clones. Set all of this up and you have one of the best price to performance and design available. If you want to root and over lock and unlock boot loader to get rid of stock apps and set all google apps to default. But keep the Samsung camera app it is one of the best period.

I've had a Galaxy S4 in UK for 4 years on Vodafone and the performance hasn't been great BUT that may have been due to the Vodafone internet coverage. Web browsing at home is very slow including when using Wi Fi at home, which again may be due to the 7 year old Netgear router. My question is, how will the 2017 A3 compare in performance to my 2013 S4? I do value a high resolution screen but does the A3 have a good screen? I know than its specs are lower than the S4. With that in mind will the extra cost of an S7 be justified? Thanks in advance for any replies.
@TechLineHD7 жыл бұрын
2017 A3 is better than the S4 as it has newer generation chip/RAM etc. If you have money, Galaxy S7 would be a good investment. Have used it since the official launch, works great! Here is my after the buzz review: kzbin.info/www/bejne/d3zZoImnpbFrjs0

I wish they would start making moderately priced phones that are no more than 4.00 by 2.5 inches. I just want a phone to make calls, check email and surf the net. I don't need a great camera or great power for gaming. I like the calendar, voice recorder, calculator etc,. I want a phone that is small enough for my front pocket. This phone will fit, but it would be better if it were smaller. The Samsung Sky is enough for me, but I would like it smaller. Ideally 3..5 by 2.5 with a 3.7 to 4 inch screen if possible. I don't know if they can do that at this point. The Sky is about 140.00 dollars that I got for free with Tracfone.
