I've just tried it - it works on both but runs MUCH better on the A34 - It runs at about 115FPS whereas the A54 can only run it at around 55FPS

Wow awesome comparison between the two. I've got the A34, Which I thought was a BIG MISTAKE.I honestly want to change it to the A54 because every reviewer on YT is saying that the A54 has the better cameras. Watching this video just makes me feel better about my A34. But hopefully I think that and wish that Samsung might just release and update that might help improve the cameras on the A34.

Excellent work as always! Your video's are so thorough and well thought out. Am considering the A34 for my wife and was wondering if it's worth the RAM and storage upgrade considering the expandable storage, in your opinion? She uses the phone for social media, Web browsing and photos and will hold onto it for 4-5 years. Any truth to upgrading for future-proofing?

Thanks for watching! I imagine she'll be fine with the standard RAM and storage. It's cheaper to get a microSD card and the RAM shouldn't be an issue for those sorts of tasks 👌

Very nice review! I was in doubt between A34 and A54, mainly for cameras, I've seen people saying that A54 was better, but as i saw here it ain't exactly an reality, except for selfie camera that is better in A54. At all, not worth the price difference Also, A34 runs cooler than A54, wich is a win for me. Today i use and S10e that runs kinda hot

Hello. If I want an everyday phone for taking great photos of my holiday (once a year) or everyday stuff, a long battery life, a processor which performs admirably above average (Exynos Vs Mediatek), loud speakers that I can hear my wife/boss ringing me in London public transport would a Galaxy A34 suffice than an A54? Or getting the supposed "better specced" phone be better?

Hi there, I'm just about to start a battery test between the two but at the moment I'd say the Mediatek (A34) would more than suffice your needs. If I had to get rid of one of them right now I'd get rid of the A54 and save my money. Make sure you check out the battery drain test which is coming in the next day or so 👍 (just in case there are any major differences)

@@AndroidAddicts Thanks for the quick reply. I heard good things about these Mediatek processor's in terms of battery life. But how about everyday performance or audio (DAC) or multitasking or app opening? Do they both have Dolby Atmos? If i'm coming from an old OnePlus 7T ive researched and found an A34 has many advantages over the 7T. So you think it's a good upgrade? And can i install 3rd-party launchers as well? (I normally put either Nova or Microsoft launchers).

I've just checked and both do have Dolby Atmos. I haven't done a proper speed test but the A54 is slightly quicker when opening big games (by a few seconds) With regards to launchers, you can install them but not sure how they'd work on either - I haven't used a 3rd party launcher for years now so can't really comment on that.

Those two are very similar phones. I'd probably lean towards the A34 as it has water resistance whereas the Note 12 Pro is only splash proof. The A34 does charge slower than the Note 12 Pro but other than that they're very similar so it might even come down to which manufacturer's UI you like best.

In terms of color tones, I tend to prefer the results of the Samsung A34 which has a warm color tone compared to the cool Samsung A54

Can anyone confirm what UFS version is inside of the A54? I have conflicting answer when watching different reviews. Thanks

Very interesting question - I've just checked using the Device HW Info and the A54 does not show anything other than "UFS" whereas the A34 gives a model of the chip (KM8L9001JM-B624). Looking this up it is a UFS 2.2 chip (see here for a dump from someone's Redmi which uses the exact same chip (ufixers.com/d/5765-samsung-km8l9001jm-b624-first-reading-after-dont-reading and another confirmation here: forum.gsmhosting.com/vbb/f672/help-ufs-km8l9001jm-b624-always-error-code-108-a-3040008/). Now that doesn't help much with regards to the A54 as it does not display its chip info, so what I've done is run some read/write tests using the CPDT app. Here are the results: A34: Sequential write: 86.85MB/s Sequential read: 548.37MB/s Random write: 29.01MB/s Random read: 10.53MB/s Memory copy: 5.33GB/s A34: Sequential write: 84.23MB/s Sequential read: 441.05MB/s Random write: 26.12MB/s Random read: 12.21MB/s Memory copy: 6.05 GB/s I've run the tests multiple times and the most of the results are very similar but the A34 is consistently higher with its Sequential read and the A54 higher with its Memory copy. Hope that helps, if there's any other way you think I could check the UFS info then let me know!

Thanks for the suggestions, I recorded the video yesterday and have Genshin and Fortnite in it. I've just tried New State offline on both and it runs at 90FPS absolutely no problem at all (which is better than how the A54 can run the standard PUBG!). Video will be out later today

For the price, I was more impressed with the A34 to be honest. Battery life is very similar so if you want a slightly better processor for gaming then the A34 is the best choice out the two

@@AndroidAddicts "Proper" has different meaning for many people. Usual battery tests on KZbin are performed without sim card, also they contain variety of activities (gaming, video watching, web browsing, photographing, etc.). For me and for many people this kinds of battery tests are useless as they are artificial and unrealistic. For example, I don't game, I don't use phone on Wifi, I only use phone outside my house so I only use it with mobile data and only for web browsing and writing emails. So I only care how phone battery handles this cases. Many phones have terrible battery life when gaming but great for simpler tasks so mixed use battery test show them in bad light. So I would suggest a battery test with mobile data and results that explicitly show battery percent use for different types of activities.
