Samsung Galaxy A35 5G vs Galaxy A55 5G! - Which Is Better???

If you are like me who narrowed down their choices to these 2 models, the answer to which one you should get will depend on how you honestly use your phone on a daily basis. I ended up getting the A35 cos I really don't use power-hungry apps, and I can use the extra $100 to get other things that are more useful to me. If it's just a general "which one is better", the A55 is definitely better. In my opinion, if you use power-needy apps, or are very particular with maximizing the photo + video experience, then go for the A55. Or if the $100 is not a factor at all, go for the 55! If you just want a dependable but great midrange phone that pretty much does all the basic things, the A35 is the better value choice, in my opinion. Besides the newer and more powerful chip set and the metal sides, these 2 are practically the same. It took a bit for me to decide on the 2 cos I'm only human, and the idea of "more power" in your hand played its tricks on me, but eventually, practicality won.. hehe

I'm in the same position. I can afford either, but at the same time won't spend money I don't _need_ to. My use case is pretty general, no heavy gaming or cam use. A faster more future proof chipset is tempting, but just general utility is what's most important. Leaning A35, thanks for your input 👍

The A35 looked better to me, particularly the selfie video, where the A55 was soft/less detailed. It was hard to tell with the 4K front camera, I think because of the KZbin conversion when uploading? I don't know, both had a lot of unexpected artefacts/blockiness particularly noticeable in the sky during pans, the A55 looked perhaps slightly more detailed but less smooth when panning, maybe, though neither looked very smooth, generally good if over-saturated colours and detail. Thanks for the comparison! If the A35 is basically the A54 hardware, results from the chipset/camera will have matured through updates; the A55 will perhaps improve with updates. Who knows. I would hope the selfie camera would improve. If vlogging, I'd definitely go for the A35 (or Pixel 7a!). The A35 seems great value, what with Samsung's generous number of years with the OS and security updates.

@@Xamytogo for the A55. iy has a better processor and cameras. No particular complains, just that iys only mediocre or slightly better thn tht. I had expected worse of it, in terms of heating issues, but it has served me well

I'm a bit shocked to see that the A35 cameras held it's own against it's better brother the A55. I must say the selfies looks much better in the A35 whereas the A55 has somewhat if a permanent beauty filter on it. The A35 rear camera looks alright too and colours and sharpness are not far from the A55. I did hear that you'll get 90% A55 on the A35 with very few differences apart from the HDR0 certification. Would you agree with this?

The a35 is for someone who wants to stretch their dollars and get something that balance between price and performance. Whereas the a55 is here for someone who has a higher budget and is willing to spend more to get this finishing touches, (the newer processor and more premium build). I like that Samsung priced the a35 for less but does not compromise on value, resulting in a less expensive phone with most of the goodies from the a55. Mid-rangers are getting pretty competitive.

Its the A35 for me. The difference between the 2 is so miniscule, you're basically just paying slightly more for premium features and some specs here and there. If both phones had a drastic display size difference, battery size, big difference in terms of features and materials used, then the A55 for sure even if it meant shelling out another 100-150 dollars more. But the A35 specs is already so good and not that far off from the A55, you can just use that extra 100 dollars to buy accessories and some other things that you want outside of the phone.

Most reviews of the A55 say it has sharp edges and is not comfortable to hold in the hand for long due to that. They also say the A35 is not as sharp at the edges. I do not like the way Samsung went with the A series and making them look like Apple products (brick style) M55 and C55 look more like A series of the past (like my A52) and are lighter and have soft edges instead of sharp edges. Who in marketing at Samsung decided that sharp edges on phones is the future? 🤦‍♂🤷‍♂

My galaxy A53 5g still in great condition but after seeing galaxy a55 5g couldn't resist 😆 😉 the feeling after holding it it's like O M G such a beautiful device ❤️ in love with my galaxy a55 5g lilac colour of course 💜 I'm big fan of Samsung galaxy feels and looks like luxurious phone 😅 the edge's are not sharp at all they are round smooth ❤️

I have the A54 which has the same specs as the A35 and it doesn't overheat. It overheats when I use one specific app, but my A52 also overheated when I used that app so it's probably an issue with the app and not the phone. It doesn't overheat for basic tasks. I'm not a gamer, but it might overheat with graphic intensive games. These phones aren't gaming phones anyway so stay get a different phone if you're a gamer.

The A55 camera should be better in low light conditions given the larger sensor size (A55 - 1/1.56") than the A35 1/1.96" and the Slightly better photo processing logic of the E1480. In photography, all cameras, regardless of sensor size, perform well in daylight, but lowlight/night photography is what Separates the toys from True cameras.

It has been much better after the software updates. No lag, no overheating, and better battery life. I wasn't satisfied with this processor on the A54 on Android 13, but I would recommend all of these phones on Android 14.

Obviously a55 but it's more expensive. It has ddr5 instead of ddr4 like in a35, a35 default version has 6GB RAM while default version of A55 has 8GB RAM. So a55 runs faster and can open more apps at the same time. And it has a newer, faster and generally a slightly better processor, better graphic card, which is factor in games (for you). All in all they're similar devices, the question is are you willing to pay extra 100 bucks for a slightly better performance. In the end as far as I read, you can't go wrong with any of these devices. Just consider what's your budget. I'm also switching my phone. Previously I had galaxy m21 but the screen broke after 4 years [*]. Right now I want something more expensive because sometimes I need to get sh*t done quickly and smooth performance is more important than it was back then. I also have more money. I was also considering s21fe, (in my country it's priced the same as A55) an old flagship but low battery life and support ending in 2026 is a big turn off for me. I want a reliable device that will serve me for a few years. But if you don't care about charging your phone too often and aren't worried about the lack of support for software (it should be fine without it) s21fe is probably the best device in that price range. And if in your country fe series is cheaper than in mine and you have enough money for s23fe, I really recommend it. These old flagships have worse battery than A55 but better processor, camera, and display (dynamic amoled). So if gaming and watching movies are your priorities I would go for one of the old samsung flagships. They have slightly better specs than current midrange ones. If you want a more reliable phone I think A55 is the way to go. And if your budget is tight and you want good value for money I recommend A35. I hope it helps :)

Simple answer is a55 but it's more expensive. Depends on your budget, A35 is still good. If you mostly care about gaming and watching movies I also recommend to look into old samsung flagships like s21fe and s23fe. They're even better than a55, better processor, screen display, camera, etc. But a major drawback is sh*tty battery life and shorter software support. But if you don't care about those I recommend old flagships over A series.

You got a little confused there when comparing performance early on. I'm sure you were referring to the A54, not the A35 which also inherited the Exynos 1380 and as you said was released at the same time.
