Hi folks, if anybody reads this here goes. I have got the Galaxy A40 myself it's a fantastic compact phone the screen is a work of art, the rest of the phone is Galaxy's best also even really great back cover. Now onto the phones sound, for the stuff, you never get told or get to hear. There are in Settings several headings for your sounds. You have Dolby Atmos for surround sound for earphones along with an Uscaler for your Bit readings @ Bit Bandwidth both to switch on for fantastic loud surround sound ok. Now onto the next set of notes. In your sound and volume etc you will also find the usual switch on for Bass plus rock plus classic etc, but here is the fun side of this phone, it asks you a range of different human ages and when you press yours it alters the sound to match your hearing etc, The really fantastic hearing part is it has a setting whereby the phone ACTUALLY GIVES YOU A HEARING TEST you press Yes or No when you hear the beeps and your hearing range is taken care of. Next, it also has an actual Equalizer to take care of the phone's lower sound range also I found if you wear earbuds or in-ear stereo headphones the sound is very loud and really very good UNLIKE WEARING OVER THE EAR expensive headphones that are not really suitable for mobile phones,you do get a lower volume so don't wear them if you want really great sound.

I dont know how Samsung does it, but even if the notch is almost the same with other phones from other manufacturers, Samsung’s implementation is very classy, non intrusive, and does not look cheap to me. It must be something with the amoled display and UI but Samsung notches are very good and dies not take take away from the quality of the screen and doesn’t look cheap. Samsung is using very good korean wizardry with this one. Great phone!

So far, I'm impressed with Galaxy A series phones. With a plastic body and unspecified front glass protection, i guess that Samsung had to go cheaper somewhere in order to bring the price down quite a bit from their premium products and yet, still keep the AMOLED and hardware up to par with their near top performing phones. So in my opinion, they cut the costs right where they should have, without sacrificing the top features of the OS and hardware the phones of today have to have in order to be considered as daily drivers. This is truly the Galaxy A line of phones that everyone can get, according to how much are they willing to spend and what are they looking for from their phone.

The phone you tested is very clearly the BLACK model, and not the BLUE model. The blue model has a baby blue color on the back, which reflects light and under certain angles looks pinkish, greenish or like a darker blue. The model you tested however is very clearly BLACK on the back side, so it's the BLACK model. The black has an oil-look though, so under certain angles it can appear blue, green, red, purple or pink. It's most definitely not the blue model, even though there can be blue reflections on it. The blue model is baby blue, and that color never appears on the phone you tested.

Oh wow im sorry elena kirilova but Im pro guy who knows about specs alot. Huawei p20 lite would o been your choice although A40 works fine and fast. A40 works fine play fine but sometime do wanna lag, watching youtube is great as long it wroks but A40 is running only at 1.77ghz which is alot hard for it two work at the same time but as long you okay with that. P20 lite 2.36ghz is the fastest phone to play pubg or call of duty mobile this is how you know that P20 is faster. 4gb of ram it will handle most open apps even screen record better at the same time. Picture quality Huawei is better the lense are better Im not talking about the megapixel the processor is also better for video to picture shooting. p20 lite is 18w faster 1 hour 30 minutes per charge vs 15watt A40 trust me getting p20 lite would been a better call. Dont listen to ther cause of the name samsung, they dont know what is specs is. I mostly like the new galaxy S10 plus with best specs and better lenses are built to take super sharp photo then A series.

Guys!! I really like your website! But you have too many mistakes in database page of A40! First, it has Exynos 7904 chipset (like in A30), not 7885! Yes, 7904 is downclocked 7885, but still they are not the same! Check it, if you don't believe me! Second, it's a mid-range phone, it can't have speed of USB 3.1, especially if A50 and A70 don't have it! Third, a bit offtop, A30 also has market-dependent NFC support (as A20, A40, A50 and so on)! Pleeease fix these!!

Hello Will, Thank you for this review. I am definitely considering buying this Samsung A40 phone. It seems that the selfie camera at the front of the phone screen causes the screen contents to be displayed with a small semi circle gap. This semi circle outline gap on the screen display on the home page of the phone, and also on certain applications, looks like it would be a very annoying and irritating downside of the phone. In your experience, does this semi circle gap make any difference to the usage or function of the phone? Do you find that this semi circle screen gap causes any annoyance or irritation at any point when you are using the phone? Is it possible to turn off the full edge to edge screen display? Does the semi circle gap show up when the phone user is watching full screen youtube videos, or using other video applications on the full screen mode? Is it possible to turn off the full edge to edge screen display feature so that you can have a straight edge display on the phone screen at the top of the phone? I have the A40 but I cant seem to find the option to make the like "control bar" or what you call it to come down from anywhere on the screen. Same with "lift to wake" option which I want, that feature is also missing on my device but available to others? All help is appreciated 🙌

For the quick settings to come down from anywhere you have to long press on the home screen, go to home screen settings and it should be there. I dont know whether or not the a40 has lift to wake but if you want it you should go to settings and search for it in the search bar

??? no S7 is best for gaming! Dont even say a40 1.77ghz vs S7 2.30ghz snapdragon 800! S7 will work fortnite call of duty mobile and pubg of no lag.

G7 fit can do most job better for cameras performance and processor is higher. A40 doesn't have slos mo time lapse but g7 fit yes does. Can still accept 256gb se card Has qhd plus vs 1080 amoled For 250 is good but with low gb 32 vs 64

I am still using 16:9 aspect ratio 5 inch phone and I tried A40 but couldn't get used to stupid 19.5:9 aspect ratio

yeah that's very stupid 😅 too long and not really useful because lots of contents are still at 16:9 ratio.

@@aglasscup8740 yeah for example youtube video in non rotated mode uses only like 1/4 of the screen. Really there's no practical benefit of non bezel weird aspect ratio screens except better looks maybe
