Samsung Galaxy A42 5G Review: Better than it seems?

I purchased one of these the first day Verizon offered it to replace a Samsung G5. I use it for calls, texts, internet, & news. I occasionally watch KZbin and the battery life is amazing. The screen res is fine, I don't notice the lack of pixels. Satisfied so far.

I never get why reviewers are obsessed with talking about fingerprints on phone when most people use screen protector and cases in their phone.

You do have a point, although there are a few people (like me) who do use phones without a case. Though it isn't as big of an issue as one might think. I've use plenty of cases that are fingerprint magnets as well and it isn't the biggest deal to me at least

I'm in the US, can't afford unlimited data so I'm stuck watching KZbin in "data saver" mode which means 360p videos all of the time. I think the 720p screen on the A42 will be fine for me.

A 720p screen is good enough with around 270+ppi it also has battery life and performance benefits. Especially since its an oled display which already makes it better in terms of image quality than other 1080p lcd's. Used an an a12 as a temp second phone for a few months had no issues with the resolution but the biggest problem was the display quality since samsungs pls lcd is basically just a more modern tft screen. The a42 with an amoled should fix all those issues for just a little more cost with a better chipset and connectivity

I really wish my S8+ hadn't given me the white screen of death. Greatly disappointed in the A42 5G in pretty much every category so far, most definitely a complete downgrade in every way. Sucks I was forced to get this phone. Planned obsolescence should carry the most serious charges and penalties.

Mine is TERRIBLE. It forgets it is a phone 3 times a week. I get the message 'Your Phone is not registered to a network" I have complained to Verizon many times, NO results, they just reset it somehow. Don't waste you money !!

For sure, loved my s10e partly cause of how cool the side fingerprint sensor was. Only drawback was wanting a slightly larger screen. Of course this is i think 6.5in vs s10e which is 5.8in….so a big jump but other than that, only other thing to adjust to is the in screen fingerprint sensor which is getting faster and better every year. They are currently 300 on amazon i believe
