Just to clarify, it seems you've confused the type of scales that we use to measure things. The nits scale is indeed linear, 800 nits is precisely twice the amount of light measured as 400 nits. I think what you were referring to was the nonlinear relationship of actual brightness *perceived* brightness. I.e. there are diminishing returns; as the brightness goes up, the eye's ability to tell the difference between brightness levels does not scale as quickly. To be clear, the point you're making definitely still stands, as to the human eye, 500->1000 nits is a significantly more noticable jump than, say, 2000->4000 nits etc. Also, i can't help myself, but what you describe (doubling actually equaling a 4x increase) is not actually logarithmic. What you describe is quadratic. In contrast, the DSP scale (decibels which we measure sound intensity with) *IS* logarithmic. That means that to double an intensity of sound, you need only increase the decibel level by 3. It's wack, i know

The A line has been good for several years now. I'm still using my A5 2017 and A50s regularly. A5 felt really good. I hope samsung make more phones at this size.

I don't get why phone companies put so much importance on software updates. I had both the S8 and the S10 that went without one for 2 years straight. Literally nothing happened. Same story with some of my friends and cousins.

I still use A50s and recently get software update to Android 11 and OneUI 3. They really deliver with their promise of the longetivity of support update. For average use still great and very capable phone.

I just got the A72 a couple of days ago after rocking the A71 for almost a full year.. I was tempted to get the S20 FE, bcz it was on sale but I went for the 8 gb ram and 256gb storage instead.. First of all, if you have the A71, the A72 is worth upgrading to. The screen is great, the 90hz refresh rate really does the job, looks beautiful, the dual speakers really give a subtle stereo feel and it sounds rich and full even at full sound. The microphone is improved, my voice sounds a lot better, call quality is better, the fingerprint also is a lil bit more responsive and reliable and the battery lasted me even almost 11 hours screen on time but indoors and at 60 hz refresh rate.. The build quality feels solid, even though it's all plastic and the new matte back is great. Camera wise, big improvement from last year A71 but in terms of features. Quality wise, kinda the same which is great. Samsung has done a great job with these mid range phones.. I'm really pleased with it. I don't think I'll ever be temped to buy a flagship phone ever again..

yeah. i got mine too. some two months ago, great phone but the advertiser says it can last up to 2 days but in my case with all battery saver protocol (Low battery mode, battery adaptive, greenify, pixel filter) it cannot last two full days. maybe a day and a half. but if i use full peformance mode (battery saver protocol all off) I only get one day of extensive usage (mobile data, social media, camera, browsing all the time). but i drop it already at 24 hour after i get it. lol. durability without any case or protection can make your frame phone loose and the back plate comes off in the corner part of my phone. thank you for reading my full review of my own phone. dont forget to subscribe to BikinProject chanel xoxo

I got the A52 4G/LTE only costing me $300 after selling my A50. It's definitely an upgrade from my previous phone. I got this over the coming Poco X3 Pro just because of the software upgrade support.

I kinda like the silver ring around the front facing camera on my S20 FE. It goes well with the metal frame. I don't watch videos in full screen though. I prefer to keep the original aspect ratio. So the cutout doesn't really interfere with anything most of the time.
