I am using A52 5G 8/256gb variant now, and i can say that although it is not as fast as a s21 flagship, it still does the job pretty well. Like you said, the 120hz fast refresh rate, good battery life, good day to day performance, pretty good cameras, and good gaming, with the IP67 rating, its one of the best all rounded midrange smartphones in the market now. If feels similar to using the flagship. I think alot of people who wants a new android smartphone can give A52 5G a try. With guaranteed 3 years of OS updates and 4 years of security updates, this future proof midranger is the one to consider.

@@insidetechltd I am from Asia/Singapore. There's no A72 here only all the 5G A series. And here for A52 There's 6/128gb and 8/256gb. I bought the 8/256gb because it was on sale at Samsung online store in Singapore. After discount it was only $20 more expensive than the 6/128gb variant so I bought the 8/256gb variant. I bought the blue version.

What can I say..using A52 5G feels like giving me 40% flagship experience 60%midrange experience..it was great in all aspects..plus it has 3.5mm headphone jack and expandable storage(which other flagship lack of these things)and have ip67 rating plus it get longer 3years OS and 4 years security update(which others midrangers doesnt have)make me realize that this phone is unique..probably gonna be the best midrange phone this year

My phones all have wireless charging but I've never used it. I have wireless charging all over my place but I'd rather plug in with a wire and keep using it instead of having to park and leave it.

Yeah that is the one downside: if you want to keep using your phone. You can use MagSafe with an iPhone 12 to get around that, but otherwise the cable still has that advantage

I think the a52 is a killer phone. It would be great if it had the new 780g, a little better haptic feedback and wireless charging even if it's slow wireless charging. For the $500 price tag I don't think that a lot to ask

Wireless charging must seemingly be quite expensive because it's so rare in budget and mid range phones. That's what i'd like the most though!

Absolutely! I personally think it's more a reflection on mid range phones in general, as opposed to Samsung specifically. You can see this sort of thing with OnePlus as well, Google, and even Apple!

Disagree. Just because it has relatively poor battery life doesn’t mean it isn’t a mid ranger! If mid range phones were perfect and had no flaws, they wouldn’t be mid rangers! 🤷‍♂️

i wanted the ultra but ended up getting the a52 because of the price. Glad i got the 52 over the ultra! I like the back is plastic, i always break the glass on the back and would perfer a plastic back. Also for the price, i am not worried about breaking it

A new plastic replacement back for the A52-5G is only $8.88 on eBay today = 2/21/22, and that price will probably come down as time goes by too. It's not as easy to replace the battery on my A52-5G as it was/is on my Samsung Galaxy J3 Orbit, but the Orbit isn't water resistant like the A52 either. This A52-5G blows the J3 Orbit away in every way. I'd never know how good the A52-5G was though, if i hadn't spent 3 years using the J3. I still use the J3 Orbit while the battery on my A52-5G is charging up even though it's an old dinosaur now.

I'm using the A52s 5G, and to be honest, I am satisfied with the performance, the camera is really good for the price, and the snapdragon 778G and 120hz display is pretty fast although I game on pc not on mobile the overall experience is pretty good. Although you can get better specs at the same price from Xiaomi, Realme, or Oppo. But Samsung phones have that extra layer of reassurance, You know a Samsung will serve you for at least 4/5 years without an issue, while Xiaomi, oppo starts to slow down after 2. At this price point, I think the A52s 5G would be the best choice.

It's kind of odd how Samsung released the 's' model - it's almost like they should have waited and released only that version instead! I'd personally get the A52s over the S21 for that price, it's better value for money!

I think the FE is still supposed to be coming! So perhaps just production issues. If you can wait, definitely wait and see what the S22 lineup brings. Even if you don’t want one, it might make the other phones cheaper!

hello Inside Tech - looking to get a 'new' phone and have been looking at the A52s for some time. But also considering s21 (base model) - do not game on mobile but do need quick connectivity regarding emails (Gmail). Coming from a Poco x3 pro, I am looking for a smaller screen (so leaning towards s21) but also need decent battery life (a52s) - what would you recommend?

I would recommend the S21. Better to get a faster flagship you may need to fast charge every now and then. I would consider the newer A53 anyway, but even so I think the S21 would be the way to go for smaller size and faster speed

Thank you for your review. I have an S9 which was a gift. Use the camera a lot and also some video editing. Was thinking of an upgrade to S21 ultra or S22 but prices are do hefty. Did not realise the A52 has such comparable features to Samsung's flagship models. Would A52 be considered an upgrade from the S9? And would it be sufficient if I use it a lot for videos and editing?

I had an s21 I was paying 110 a month. I could port to metro witch is TMobile and pay 40 a month so I got the A52 5g an honestly I don't really have anything taken away that I miss but I immediately put in a micro SD and used some head phones so already the phone is serving me more than. S21... Do t get me wrong s21 is a marvelous piece of tech but if your not gonna use 8 hogs of ram the 888 chip 64 meg camera. It's a lot under the hood. I gave it to my mom... She loves it

The funny thing is that my S20 FE actually beat down the S21 Ultra I bought so I returned it. The main camera lens of the FE is better than the main camera lens of the Ultra, surprising but it's true. All my phones have always have wireless charging but I haven't put them on it even for the first time because I don't like it

I have the a52s after having an s6 edge for many years, its quite an upgrade if you are coming from an older phone i am very happy with it and the price of the s21 was just too much to make it worth having, 4 years of upgrades on the 52s is pretty dam good. Great video.

There is a A52s 5G out right now with a faster prozessor. Think this will be my choise. Right now I have a S9 and I think it is also similar good. Just the battery is not so well on my old S9... S21 is too much for the little more that it offers.

Yes, it's a better phone. But i'd say not enough to make the switch really. If you're happy with the A50, stick with it! New Samsung phones (including A series) to be expected in a few months too

How does the contrast ratio increase 20 times when the brightness in nits increases only 1.875x? Especialy considering both show absolute black as oled displays?

I assume this is because Samsung are quoting a dynamic contrast ratio measurement as opposed to static - so it's not as simple as measuring the luminance of the darkest and whitest pixels. The measurement is the same for both phones though, so you can still compare the numbers directly to understand the relative difference

Why is this A52 5g only have 128gb and 6g ram? Mine's got 256gb with 8g ram. The issues I'd give to this is that I can't use my micro-SD without sacrificing the slot of one of my two SIM cards. Also, only one SIM can use the 5g connection.

Not, in my opinion, Until they shut the 3g service down on February 22nd, 2022, I owned both. Spec per Spec, the A72 was the superior & noticed no difference whether the display was in 60Hz, 90Hz, or 120Hz; in addition, the quartet camera of the A72 had a more versatile, comprehensive array with the double OIS, 30x zoom I NEED the OIS to mitigate a lifelong issue taking pictures resulting excessive shakiness which means a paucity of pictures in my life. Also there's practically no difference between the Snapdragon 720G & 750G procs.

The A72 5G does not exist, at least not yet. It is only a rumoured phone and not officially confirmed to be coming. You can simply check Samsung’s own website for a list of their officially sold devices. And you won’t find the A72 for the USA. This doesn’t stop the option for the device being imported from other regions (which is why you may find the device listed on marketplaces such as Amazon). I hope that explains it

I bought the A52s5g from Samsung direct in September 21, i got a trade in deal on an old A70 , £150 off the new phone. Making the price £260 with a free set of Galaxy buds . The A52s is a great phone , battery lasts all day, expandable storage , headphone jack , great screen , photos are very good & i like Samsung UI . This is a brilliant mid ranger , the A53 will be out this year & Samsung will offer trade in & buds . I looked at Apple when i was buying a new phone & nothing came close for the price . I don`t need a flagship & with 4 years UI support it was an easy choice .

Basically yes, but 'important' changes depending on your point of view as well. It's down to personal preference, and some people will find one of the S21 Ultra's features important enough to warrant buying it. But i'd still say the A52 offers better value for your money

@@insidetechltd thx for feedback btw. second question is all about IP67 rating where we have a lot of moving parts/openings on the body of the phone itself. Is it (by your opinion) better than some hardcase mobile body with less perforations.

A general rule is that a phone with fewer exposed parts/openings would be more protected. However, the IP67 rating is an international standard - all phones with this rating have been tested and proven to meet the same requirements. So any phone with the this rating has been proven to withstand submersion of at least 1 m for 30 minutes (even if it has openings on the phone). So it should be fine and no different from a completely sealed phone!

If anyone needs a case or screen protectors for the a52 the best companies to look at would be (Spigen) for the protector, the camera protectors were awesome to have and actually stopped my lens from being broken a couple times 👌 As far as the case there is a UK brand called (Torro) they have a leather wallet case that gets the job done very well. Between both companies the products lasted over a year without any problems.

Mosnovo cases aren't bad either if you like cute designs on a clear case. I started using them on a whim on a Note20U then an iPhone XS Max and now my S22U. The note and iphone survived many falls onto concrete and the cases haven't yellowed yet. Tech21 and Casemate also make good cases.

A series way better then the S series. Sent my S22 back would not pair with new car. S 22 wa too slippery and tiny A52 was bigger and has better and more stable grip. Very disappointed with S 22. This A 52 saved Samsung to me! Headphone Jack in A 52 YAY!!!!! A52 best Samsung phone out there today.

Crikey... a lot of emphasis on the camera performance.... If you want a good camera, buy a camera ! I bought an A52 for communications. I am utterly delighted with it. The display and user interface is really good. I have not enjoyed Android before, but this is different and really good.

Camera is now the number one priority and feature the majority of people care about in a smartphone - and I think the idea is that they want it as part of a single device they can carry in their pocket. Everyone has their own preference though!

Of course it's better, but the phones aren't the same price. If the Ultra cost the same as the A52 5G, then of course you'd just pick that instead. The point is whether or not it's worth spending that much more on the Ultra instead 👌🏼

@@insidetechltd In may Verizon had buy one get one on the s21 ultra. If you happened to have 2 lines it worked out perfectly. $600 for a s21 ultra was a damn good deal.

I got A52, first what I did when I turned it on, was a shock, an insane amount of bloatware was in it, from which majority can not be removed. So next I made was a heavy debloat, as it was horroble and monstrously depressing to have so much bloatware in the phone. Now I feel a little bit better after a heavy debloat. I was also thinking to root it and degoogle it totaly. So if you like bloatware party, go get yourself this phone, you will surely enjoy it... And another thing, this is a bigger phone 6.5, but ultra is like super oversized phone with 6.8 inch screen, so take that into considerstion as well.

I don't understand what is the problems with bloatware? They are not running backgroud I see. Though those can't be uninstalled but can be disabled. In our phone there are more than 150 apps. What is the problem with few pre-installed bloatware - I would like to know.
