Today I will be comparing the cameras on the Samsung Galaxy A52 versus the S20 Fan Edition (FE). I will go through picture and video examples during daytime and low light. Also, I'm using the Pixel buds A-Series and I will be giving you my thoughts on that as well.

What I've noticed is that, when it comes to, shall we say, back-camera (standard) shots, the S20 fe gives more detailed shots with sharper edges, while in portraits, it blurs out the objects in the background and has its focus completely on the person in the selfie. The A52 5G however, while it doesn't give as detailed of a standard shot as the S20 fe, it spreads the focus in terms of selfies and I find it more pleasing and satisfactory. But, again, if you're covered by a shadow, since the A52 5G spreads it's focus, you won't receive a good amount of focus. In terms of video quality, I don't see much of a difference. Close shots, such as when the person in the video has both phones record him from the front while walking, the A52 5G gives a brighter shot than the S20 fe. Mic test, as I've noted in a video I watched before, the A52 5G gives more of a cushioned voice, while the S20 fe is much clearer. And of course, the S20 fe has better image stabilization than the A52 5G.

How do you get that good of a video on the S20 FE? I got mine set at UHD 60 and there is a film grain over it and the video doesn't look as good as your's in the video. Takes really nice pictures though atleast.

Good video Daniel. I am concerned about the use of external mic with these two phones. Two questions: first, does your mic uses 3.5mm jack, and if so, did you use an adaptor to connect it to S20FE? Second, did samsung A52 video app automatically get the audio input from the external mic, or you used another app for recording audio with external mic?

Someone on youtube mentioned that the A72 just recieved an update that introduced EIS for 4K video recording. Since it has the exact same specs as the A52 except that the A72 has a telephoto lens and the A52 instead have a dept sensor, my guess would be that the A52 will recieve the same update? I don't have any of them, but if you can confirm that the A52 gets EIS for 4K video I'll probably buy one since the lack of EIS has been the biggest dealbreaker for me.

Great comparison, actually A52 5g and S20FE with snapdragon are almost same price. Have to decide soon but I'm really worried about macro photos on S20...it seems it's not easy at all to get decent macro (not close-ups) pictures since you have basically to use the 3x zoom (less light to the sensor) and try to focus from a distance of 7-8 inches. What are your thoughts? Is there any S20FE owner here who can help?

Got the S20 in the end. Pro mode and manual focus and you can gt some great macro pictures! What I see and others are Complaining about this, weak signal receiving and touchscren seems sometimes to fall asleep while texting. Edit...macro shots are decent but really poor for such kind of phone. Really disppointed by this model. No more samsung in my life quality/price ratio is terrible

Hi Daniel, the camera of S20 fe is better from A52s in spite of to A52s have a 64mp? to S20 fe have just 12mp. it's not make a blur when i will want to enlarge the image on the computer screen?

I can open my contract. What device should i choose? The new A52s wich has very good specs,Snapdragon processor, headphone jack, Gorrila Glas 5 (S20fe has Gorilla glass 3),and the screens are the same in fact. Yeah you can take it in the normal mode and the background should be in focus too

I am not a tech person. I do not understand how a 12 mp camera is better than a 64 mp camera. I want to take pictures and video stuff. Is the S20FE worth paying extra.

Hmm simply put, higher MP doesn’t mean it’s better. If you need to zoom in, crop, or print out the pictures without it being blurry then yes, higher MP is better. For the quality, it’s mainly due to the bigger camera sensor size since they can take in more light to create better looking pictures. I want to create these comparisons to let viewers decide on their own if it’s good or not.

yes, I thought the same; througout the video the FE performed better, video stabilization, but at low light the a52 suddenly won. I am deciding between A52s and 20FE 5G (in 2022) as the A53 has no improvements; and they are all about the same price; and have SD card slots. 🙂 Think I will go with the FE

@@Hunkyger I am running oder LG phones with Android 10, so I don't miss any features on the newer Android versions and also have not experienced any real security issues. Haven't seen any developments in the last few years that excite me. Thought the headphone jack is a feature; but then, never use it because everything is BT now... I like good camera, SD card slot, flat displays and good battery management (e.g. charge to 85% setting) so the battery works after 3 years. Of cause I could go for S22Ultra, rounded display looks nice, but feels wrong in my hand, and no SD card slot.... see no reason to spenn 100 USD/EUR extra

@@stefan-D it is one of the best. Slow motion looks bad, it says 1080p but it looks like 720p upscaled. And u cant use the tele camera in pro mode. Or in 60fps. Tele camera works only in 30 fps. But it is nice. 12mp, u can make a ton of pics u have raw. But no tele in pro picture mode either. But the ois does its job, pics u get are not shaky or blury. I like its camera a lot pictures are cinematic out of the box, videos too.
