@@user-pw8dc1wy2w well, my dad got me an A20 which had the same specs as my older phone... good thing I’ve upgraded after about 1 year to an iPhone 8 which felt like a massive upgrade. A20 felt like a small upgrade from my Huawei and kinda good upgrade from my iPhone 6 Plus. It felt solid.

I picked mine up today . It has the features I require , headphone jack , expandable memory , good battery , reasonable camera , and the IP rating . It is just about the only phone with this mix of features at any price .

Nice jacket Mike. Loving the vibe! I waited for the A72 to come to my network (country valley life, only one network fully covers it) but it just never appeared. I really wanted it. They had the A42 (I think that's his name?) Alas, that had just a few too many differences from flagship level for my liking, especially when the A72 seemed just that much better? I ended up just renewing my contact for a SIM only option, just not enthused with too much out there at the minute. $25 for unlimited everything. Never mind, her ladyship has an update soon I think. Will see what abounds then. Another stupendous, supercalafagic video as ever old bean. Many fan q's chap. Edit... No 5G in our valley and will be a long while before we get it. We only got 4G coverage 5 years ago but we do have 80meg broadband. Iol. Strange..I digress... Thanks Mike.

Happily owning an A70 and 71 I think I would categorie the A72 as an A71+. For the price, compared to its previous generations I think what you get is disappointing. I think the processor is fine and search on a flagship chip is not always as fast with search as midrange. There are more factors than processor that determine speed search results. I think the macro camera in my experience is more interesting on these midrange phones. The macro with 5 mpix sensor does provide a better results than the main 64 mpix sensor. The reason for this is the lens. But personally I think Samsung should have upgraded the macro sensor to 8 or 10 mpix for more detail. Auto sharpness is difficult on macro due to the magnification and abstracter objects. I can forgive that and at such closeups using manual focus by moving the camera farther or closer to the subject is just as effective at these close ranges. I don't understand why telefoto can't be 64 mpix as wel, or maybe 32 mpixels. The biggest gripe I have though is that Samsung still support default beautify mode. I was hoping they would add this to the A72 as the S21 ultra also has the option to turn it off. Beautify mode has just too much smoothening and is ruining the portrait images. I doubt they will software fix this as they haven't for the A70 and 71 to date. The images are just bad in my view, and it makes it more difficult to take pictures with details. I think the A70, 71 and 72 owners deserve this option.

I think you might have something set to low with the cameras my old A40 I'm using takes better video's? I've never used 5G either so my upgrade will be interesting with that not that it's absolutely necessary 4G works just fine I'll be going for the A71 don't like the camera's on this way look! Hopefully it'll drive drive price down on the A71 though!

Macro lens should be used for closer object like lesser than 3 cm. The sample photo you taken is too far from the lens, that's why it is blurry the whole photo.

Dont want jack to be removed in future. As for bluetooth earpiece one need to charge it..and if its charging one cannot use earphones through connectors. But in jack one doesnot need to take care of that.

I have the same question; I have the S20FE 4G, dont want the negative 5G effects; looking for a second backup to do my Livestreams from two phones simultaneously; should I go for this A72? I like the lower price and longer battery life plus expanded micro SD capability to name a few. I hear S20FE has overheating issues? Mine has an auto focusing and darkening and lightening issue video camera glitch. Ill be taking it in for repair soon. Sucks cuz its brand new.

AS _Branding Samsung,data security, privacy ,OIS featured video Worth buying . Touch panel is not as smooth as it should be. But as now people have a choice in large variety of chinese brand phone with lesser price and so many features(including 5g). If they used those brands before then it will not suit them at all. They find it pricier. PS. In my opinion without 5g it's ok in India for few more years.

Hello Mike, great review! I had an A71 for a few months and liked it, but i upgraded to a note 20 (standard with exynos unfortunately) to have the water resistance and DEX. But i can't make it through a day with a full charge at night and the fingerprint sensor is really bad with a screen protector. Does the A72 have DEX?
