Congrats. I like Apple design and build quality, I just cannot deal with the OS and all the limitations on it. Additionally, you have a few options to go with each year in terms of products. I don't think you ever regret moving to Android.

Well, to me what he says is a bit nonsense. As far as I know, in terms of hardware, there is no special version for India. Meaning what you get is similar to what I get. And technically the chipset shouldn't make any difference in terms of phone's application functions. If the network band fits India (which it should), I don't see any problem. I would suggest you to ask in an Indian Forum your question and get the verification from the actual users in India.

After you made sure there ia no network support issue, I would definitely recommend getting the SD version if you can. It's just far better.
