I honestly love where the fingerprint sensor is. My finger has been engraved in a very similar position from holding my LG G3 for so long that, when I got the S8+ in my hands for the first time, I had no trouble using the sensor.

Funnily enough I was seriously thinking about downgrading from my S8+ to the S6 Edge, just because I miss the Emerald Green colour so much. But with the Maple Gold being available in the UK for the new Note phone, I will be going for that instead as it’s the only colour from the s6 - s8 range that I haven’t had yet. I wanted it when I got my S8+ but the colour wasn’t available in my region.

Samsung has made a habit of forcing their own software on consumers who don't want it. It's a bit annoying at first, but when there's a problem with a program and you can't disable it then it starts to ruin the whole phone. This is why I have a Google Pixel now after two Galaxy Notes.

Lawrence Lentini Note 5 owner here, I hear ya and U def have a point. I'm looking to possibly upgrade later this year or sometime in '18, and as much as I like the overall look and features of the Galaxy S8+ and Note 8, the software aspect can be annoying. TBF, as far as Android builds go, it's an unintentional (hopefully? LOL) timing thing with Sammy, whereby the Galaxy S phones get released in April, and the Notes in Aug -- all sporting the previous Android version -- just as Google is releasing its next Android build in August. That said, TouchWiz/Experience still arguably has issues (vs "stock"), and bloatware simply sucks !! I'm def anxiously waiting to see this Fall what Google brings to the table with Pixel 2, as well as Huawei with the Mate 10.

I have a note 4 and while I think it's the best phone I've ever had and has certainly held up the last 2 years I won't be upgrading to a note 8 or going Samsung for my next phone. Anyone whose ever owned a Samsung will know that after 6 - 12 months it will start getting very hot and the internal non removable battery in this phones case will diminish and give less and less charge. I'm on my 4th battery in 2 year with my note 4. My Samsung batteries last 6 hours (3 hours full use) and my ankle battery lasts me 12 with 5-6 full use. I'm just sick of this issue and it never being addressed. Probably going to get a one plus 5 next. What do you guys recommend? I like big phones like the note so I'd prefer something big with lots of power.

Tony Sahni Well one phone I *wouldn't* recommend would be the OnePlus 5, LOL. Yes it has fast-charging (as do most Sammies), but the battery isn't that big, and then there are the other issues like lack of an SD card slot, lack of water resistance, the wonky cameras, and the "jelly scroll" effect. Here are a couple ideas if battery is a big concern -- Huawei Mate 9 (current) or Mate 10 (releasing Oct 15). Mate 10 will have a 6"+ screen and projected 4,000+ mAh battery (Mate 9 has a slightly smaller screen but similar sized battery). Xiomi makes a Note-sized phone, but I'm not sure of the exact battery size. Also not sure I'm ready to fully endorse the brand at this point, but by all means, do your own research; maybe you'll like it. Lastly, here's a "dark horse" for ya: Galaxy S8 Active. Same size screen as the regular S8 (5.8"), but with military-grade dust/shock/water resistance, a flat (non-Edge) screen, and a 4,000 mAh battery. As a Note 5 owner, I feel your pain to some degree on the battery issue, and am leaning toward the S8 Active, but want to see in the Fall the Mate 10 finished product, as well as what Google brings to the table with Pixel 2 XL, before making a decision.
