This video was the only video so far where I see it "lag" it wasnt too bad, but I think I might just get the Note 10.1 and hopefully receive the mag UI when it get updated to kit kat. I would like the 12.2 but that price tag may be too much for me.

Samsung finally figured out that if you already have a 6" screen on your phone you're not going to buy a tablet with 8" screen. I wish I had spare change, this would have been a great way to compliment my Note 3.

mahmoud moussa I sent Samsung Support this question and they replied saying they cannot speculate at this time on future updates. I don't see why it won't receive this update, the device is only 3 months old and all the specs are the same except for 4.4 Kit Kat. Luckily I'm still able to return mine, I'm just going to return mine and wait patiently. I may just wait for the updated Note 8, I'm assuming it will be just like the 8.4 pro that was just announced but with the Spen. I think that's a perfect size. It's sad that Samsung is doing this and making customers that just bought the Note 10.1 2014 feel like they have an outdated device.

They definitely should have integrated a keyboard dock with a tablet this size especially given that it's the PRO model. It's still a nice tablet though. Will probably just be priced too high for me though.

I love how he's like ohhh man bummer no led flash...dude its a 12.2 inch tablet...he's struggling to even hold it for the demo video lol a camera on this is appreciated but completely pointless as you'd look like the biggest tool ever taking pics with this monster tab haha...but yea next time maybe film the video in focus especially when showing off hardware...much better than pointer to a giant blur spot

Rumor has it that Apple palns ot release a 12" iPad as well. But it wont be as versatile. Especially since the Ipad still only run one app on the screen. I will definitely be buying. I have the Note 3 and I wanted the 10.1 2014 but decided I didn't want 2 devices that did the exact same thing the same way. But this nice new update to TouchWiz, 4 apps on the screen at the same time, stereo speakers, 2k HD resolution. Just think, this ha a higher resolution vs my Samsung 60" I just bought. I am certainly buying thus. Apple isn't going to die, but they better be looking.

If Apple releases a 12 inch iPad running iOS it will be useless in comparison to this, however I recently read an article on Mac|Life suggesting that it might end up running an iOS-OSX hybrid, and may use a laptop chip rather than a mobile chip. If that is the case Samsung is screwed...

What? It uses the Snapdragon 800 SoC. How much more power do u need for email and Angry Birds? Its already way more powerful and versatile vs an iPad. It has 3GB of RAM and 2.3Ghz CPU. How much more performance do you need? If you need so much more power, get a laptop or a desktop. You sound way to critical for something you aren't even going to buy. Seriously stupid! I am all for opinions and I respect opinions, but they at least need to sound sensible.

The iPad Air has a more powerful GPU and a better performing CPU, (Weird considering it's only dual 1.3 GHz, I know), and by performance he means the smoothness of the OS, where the Air will also win (whether or not the performance is significant we will see). The Note is FAR more versatile however, and calling the new features inutilities is quite ignorant.

There is NOTHING the iPad can do that the Note cant, yet there are several things the Nite does that the iPad is capable of and yet it is not allowed. Again why don't you conder the applications. All the apps that run on tablets are stripped down versions of desktop apps. They have far less code. Have you ever even program a Windows app vs one for iOS and Android? Because I have, Let me explain it this way in the most simplest term. Lets take a game like Pac-Man from the 80's. Remember how pacman looked on Atari? Did you see how it changed? By the time Pacman came to Nintendo, this game was running on very slow cpu and gpu. What is different about todays pacman? NOTHING. Same game being ran by a 1000Ghz + CPU and same for CPU. What advantage does todays pacman have on todays hardware over an old one? Only looks because of th GPU allows for more fancier shades of color and detail That is it. It doesn't use all that much more power. Again yes what you said is fact, the iPAd does have a more powerful GPU, yet it doe less than a Note. In fact Infinity Blade 3 on the iPad Air still suffers from lag and studder even tho it isn't as bad as it is on the iPad 3 in iOS 7. However that same game if coded for Android and ran on the Note would be near flawless.Why? Because the Note has more RAm and the facts of ALL COMPUTERS have show that a computer with a slower CPU/GPU and more RAm can and dos outperform one with a faster CPU/GPU and less RAM.

You said the Note was more powerful, and I corrected you, you said the Note was more versatile and I agreed. Not sure what you're getting at with the middle paragraph so I'll just ignore it. Infinity Blade lags on the iPad Air because it is graphically intensive, as it would with the Note. Unless the graphical quality was brought down a notch on the Note, there is NO possible way that Infinity Blade would run smoother on it. The Note has a less powerful GPU and is pushing nearly one million more pixels, the load on the GPU is much higher than the GPU on the iPad Air running the same game,. As a result the iPad air will produce higher frame rates. Look at any benchmark of the A7 GPU vs the Adreno 330 (used in the Note), the A7 will pull off higher frame rates in both onscreen and off screen tests every time.

ChapFlashDinkleberg You said Infinity Blade would run worse on this device vs the iPad Air and I will explain why you would likely be wrong. You don't need to have a more power GPU to pull off smother graphics. The key is RAM. The iPad has 1GB of RAM, the Note has 3GB of RAM. What makes graphics faster is how fast it can get the info to do the draws, So when you have more RAM, repeat graphics can be store in the cache of RAM, and when the software needs it it simply calls it up, not do a full redraw. I will give you a perfect example, the Nintendo 64. Many games required more memory to handle the graphics, if you removed the extra memory, the games graphics would either lessen or the game would simply fail to run. Why? Because many games were so intensive the only way they would run is with more RAM. What you miss is a simple fact which I mentioned above, a system with a faster/better CPU/GPU with less RAM, can be outperformed by a system with a slower CPU/GPU with more RAM. That is a fact with ALL OPERATING SYSTEMS, whether they are Intel or ARM based. The reason the iPad is so sluggish especially now is simple. The iPad has a very high resolution screen, which puts even more strain on the GPU. The home screens, the icons, the games and more all require draws. If the iPad ha more RAM, the data that never changes like the Home Screen could be stored in a cache in RAM, so that what is left can be used for the graphics power. What you are sadly missing with the iPad is simple. 1GB of RAM, the OS itself is using 50% of it already. how fast can a game like Infinity Blade run with on 512MB of RAM. Here is how you can test what I said. Go an get a video card with only 512MB of RAM onboard and run a hHD game at full resolution, like 1920x1080 and see what happens, then get anoher ol;der card that has on 1GB of RAM and see how much different it gets. If you notice with most of ATI's Radeon cards, they all basically use the same GPU chipset, but have varying amounts of RAM. The MORE RAM the better it can perform. Here is just one more example. I have an Xbox 360, maybe you do too. In many high speed racing games like Blur or Need for Speed where graphics can exceed 30fps, many times the track will simply ghost out. Why? Because the Xbox 360 has such a low amount of RAM, that the GPU is forced to try to rush and redraw the graphics while you are playing and it cant catch up sometimes because the GPU is handling other tasks. This is why Intel chipsets use shared RAM. My laptop has 16GB of RAM. Even though it also has switchable graphics, I can use my Intel one just fine as I see no performance difference even tho the NVidia it has is a BETTER GPU. Why? Because with 16GB of RAM where I can share 50% directly to the system, it works perfect without switching. Go top Tom's Hardware and see benches where many PC setups had less CPU/GPU power and outperformed a system with less RAM and a better GPU/CPU.
