I bought the base RAZR, more than enough flip for me. You did make a huge mistake on the wireless charging though, BOTH have it, and both do it at 15 watts, not 5 watts. Other than that, good review, I think most folks will do just fine and save $200 (now $300, the base dropped down to $599 in the US) going for the base one. It's nice to have a choice!

Just got the base 2024 model for $550 from Tmobile. I've had it for a week and have been really gentle with it. It's gaming performance is stellar. The only games I can't play on it are games that I'd rather play on PC anyway or games I'd rather not play at all. Its battery is fantastic. Its camera is more than sufficient for daily use and its ultra wide camera is incredibly useful. Changing out the ultra wide for a 2x lens on the plus model was, to me, a bit of a mistake from Motorola. You definitely feel its absence on the plus model. When it comes to charging, both models offer the exact same 15W wireless charging. I genuinely have no clue where you got the idea that the base model lacks wireless charging. You either got a faulty base model phone or you didn't even bother to test it. Dunno how much we can trust everything you say in the vid. I also feel as though you were needlessly harsh on the base model without really emphasizing that it is $200 dollars cheaper. That is a massive price drop from the plus model. For the price, the base model is actually unbelievably good.

$300.00 difference** That is huge!! And is the reason why I chose the base model. (That and the ultra wide camera.) Plus the addition of a larger battery and slightly less demanding chipset means better battery life despite slower charging speeds. The extra screen real estate on the Plus model will be missed though, for increased functionality like texting, etc.

You need to correct the information about wireless charging. You are WAY off. Both versions have 15 watt wireless charging. The difference between the two is that the plus model also has reverse wireless charging. As for wired charging, the regular model has 30 w charging while the plus model has 45 watt charging. You really trashed the 'vanilla' version. It's the harshest review of this phone that I have yet seen. Just bought the razr2024 coming from from a z flip 3 and I love this thing. Best bang for my buck. Almost got the z flip 6🤦🏽‍♂️ so glad I got this one! My wallet appreciates it too!

First to comment. I actually just upgraded to the Razr50 in Spritz Orange from the Razr40 and its a huge upgrade in my opinion. Its just so much more fluid and the hardware overall seems to be better quality. Not to mention the hinge is far better and I don't hear or feel it anymore. Now having the bigger screen on the outside is a huge plus as well because now I find myself not wearing the screen crease down by constantly opening it since the outer screen can handle pretty much everything. I highly recommend this phone and this is coming from a guy that switched from the Samsung's Z series to Motorola's Razr series.

I got a base version and it's fine. The most graphic intense game I play on it is Mario Kart and that's a game that ran fine on my old Galaxy Note 9, so the Razr2024 easily handles it as well. I haven't tested out the camera much but it seems fine so far. I'm not planning on shooting professional videos or pictures with it, so I'm sure it'll do just fine for what I plan to use it for, which is mostly casual stuff.

I went for the cheaper one for the ultra wide camera. I always use it, even on my Xperia 1 series. So the best Razer flip phone does simple not exist. If that plus one had an ultrawide, I would take that one, no hesitation, now it's not worth the money since I never game on a phone.

I wish I'd watched this before purchasing the vanilla version! Thankfully, I am in my window for return and will be upgrading to the plus! I noticed some basic lagging on the vanilla model with everyday use, such as WhatsApp, texting, Discord, social media, and basic games (like Tetris). I am a typical iPhone user and am very impressed by the razr. If the plus is that much better than the vanilla, I will most likely make the switch fully, instead of as a second/work phone.

Besides the small form factor to fit in small pockets, that outer screen is more useful then you think. I use it exclusively as an eReader that is very comfortable to hold one hand for hours. Also great for all messaging apps. running music, podcast, selfies with preview screen, quick wallet access, etc.

Moto hardware: Awesome. MOTO SW: catastrophic! IMHO... Moto / Lenovo updates are minimal and very slow to update. Functions get disabled and not fixed - eg: RAZR40 had voice assistant with phone closed disabled by SW update in Jan, and it is still broken today... even after a much belated update to A14 and release of the RAZR50. MOTO needs to fix their SW department.AFAIK.... No update on progress to resolve... just take your money, promise hands-free operation, and not deliver.

parked my flip 5 picked up 2024 razr plus, Moto for the win, its just way more fun and external screen is way more usable, im not a big camera guy, so it doesnt bother me, its good enough for most people, i do have the Ultra 23 too that phone has great camera just to bulky for me i have smaller hands

I had the razr. Returned it and went back to iPhone. It was laggy. Websites were slow to load. Could not listen to music in my car. Not worth it the frustrations. The folding was neat. The outside screen was not the most responsive for me. The screen auto brightness was not good. Hard to see. Vibration was so weak. I missed messages. If you don’t do much with your phone and just want a cool flip, it’s a good phone though.
