Only reason I can afford it is because my carrier is doing an upgrade service so I only have to spend €200 for the S20 or €100 for the S20 FE. They offer the S10 as a free upgrade but I'm going for the S20. I'm surprised your carrier doesnt have an upgrade service - where are you located? Most do...at least here in Europe.

I've pre ordered the S20 plus. Tried the ultra in my local O2 shop........too big and too heavy and I don't take lots of photos but I do like a fairly large screen. Plus version is definitely the sweet spot for me.

I'm fortunate in my country, it's $1500AUD he in Australia when you purchase it outright. But phone companies give you plans for an 12 to 36 months, and you just pay a certain amount each month until it's paid for. I would prefer to just buy it and leave it at that, but I can't afford it. So I just go on a 36 month plan and pay $50AUD per month, which is much easier than dropping $1500AUD

2:58 - Erm, that is because not EVERY one has a USB C port on their old phone! By the way, that 'weird adaptor' is MEGA useful as it means you can also use it to plug in ANY USB stick or hard drive into your phone for extra storage also you can charge any other USB device from your phone via that adaptor with a cord plugged into it! Very useful. It will be missed!!!! I love the pull down or pull up anywhere on the screen for the app drawer! It is annoying to open that by accident, but FAR better and smoother plus way easier than ANY other implementation on ANY other brand phones...

I'm not sure I agree with the fact that the s20+ should not exist: the s20 feels too small for me and the s20 ultra is super tall, heavy and expensive. I feel like the s20+ is the perfect mix, with a big beautiful screen but not too heavy, with tof sensor for the cameras and without a back that looks completely ugly because of too many cameras.

Kellen (please see end of this post too!), if you've held the ultra and the + you know there absolutely IS a reason for the + to exist. The ultra is heavy, chunky, tall and too expensive. The regular s20 isn't coming out on Verizon due to the 5g bands, BUT, does the unlocked one actually work fine on Verizon regardless?

Kind of a late response but for those who are wondering an unlocked S20 will work just fine on Verizon. It just won’t have support, nor will it ever get support, for 5G on their network. Also, the base S20 IS coming out on Verizon, but is slated for a later release date in Q2 2020 and it will include the required antenna to be able to make use of their 5G network.

from what i've read on some articles it looks like it only really makes a different in portrait mode pictures really, otherwise the camera hardware is 1:1 exactly the same. To me, not worth it personally.

I just got an S20 and the most annoying that I've just discovered is that there is no permanent audio setting for the in-call volume. Every time I take a call, the volume jumps to the max setting and I have to fumble with the volume keys to prevent getting eardrum damage during the call. Does anyone have a fix for this?
