People are really downplaying the A55's improvements and new features in the comment section. I understand that you don't want to upgrade every year, I don't either! You don't have to call the phone bad in order to avoid upgrading. Allow me to showcase the A55's changes compared to the A54, while putting it up against older Samsung flagships. • SoC The Exynos 1480 switched to 4LPP, from the previous foundry used by the Exynos 1380: 5LPE. This lead to a significant performance boost. Single Core -> 16.3% faster. Multi Core -> 23.4% faster. The Exynos 1380 was at Snapdragon 855 performance levels, A54 S10. The Exynos 1480 is at Snapdragon 888 performance levels, A55 S21. That's a two year leap in performance, as the 865 launched in 2018 and the 888 in 2020. Sure, the Snapdragon "Triple Ate my Battery" wasn't particularly good, but we are making progress nonetheless, and it shouldn't be ignored. Samsung's midrangers are famous for being underpowered. This is Samsung's attempt at fixing that. Additionally, it is 42% faster in GPU than the Exynos 1380, combined with AMD drivers instead of Mali, it is a big improvement. I have used the S21 FE with the Exynos 2100 before, and I can confirm that the A55 is better in terms of thermal management and battery consumption. In terms of daily performance, I don't notice much difference, but I would say the A55 is better because it stays cool while gaming. Unlike my S21 FE, which tends to overheat, causing throttling and noticeable FPS drops, the A55 maintains stable performance without these issues. • Construction The A55 is built with an aluminum frame, compared to the A54's plastic frame, which is... nice. More importantly, the A55 uses Gorilla Glass Victus on the display and back glass. This is HUGE, as in a huge feature? Not necessarily. It is huge because that's usually reserved for flagship models. Samsung even skipped GG6 with this. The literal S23 FE uses Gorilla Glass 5! • Display The A55 comes with a peak brightness upgrade of 1650 nits. I'll admit I'm unsure if this only works specifically with HDR content, or if it can be used to boost the brightness of some white text on a black background in, for example, Discord, for better visibility under the sun. I would appreciate if someone answered this. The bezels are also smaller and more uniform this year, with a slight size increase. • Extras Improving SoC efficiency can give manufacturers the option to make the chip faster, or make it more battery efficient. However, a balance is usually picked between both. Even if this chip goes all out on the new foundry, low power tasks should still benefit from the higher efficiency, leading to longer battery life... on paper (Samsung claims that the Galaxy A55 can deliver up to 29 hours of screen time on a 5000mAh battery.). *AND ITS CHEAPER* The cheapest option should be 256/8 for just 350€!

You speaking facts man about the A55. 💯 In my opinion, the A55 is way better than the S21 FE. Also, the A55 speakers are way better than the A54 and A34. With fuller sound and better bass. And the A55 recently gotten the "More Vividness Slider," so now it is just as vivid as the S24 series now.

A55 have brighter display 1620 nits (peak) measured by dxomark and gsmarena, lauder speakers, way better battery life. That snapdragon 888 in s21 fe is power hungry, and also a55 have better build quality. And at least 4 years of updates. S21 FE is last major update this year

Got s21 fe snapdragon 888 6/128Gb olive brand new for 205€ no complains battery is amazing and its fast i get 7-9 hours SoT youtube social media etc gaming 3-4 hours but brought 25w charger charges it in hour and 10 min i highly recomend it great phone can easily last you whole day if your normal user

Snapdragon 888 overheats a lot. After around a year, you'll notice the phone slowing down because of how much heat it produces. The only way to not get the phone as hot is to turn on power saving mode. It helps a lot. You wouldve been better off getting an S23.

The fe is a cheaper version of the regular one But the s21 is just marginally better than the s21fe. Theyre basically the same phone in different exteriors. Same with the s20 and s20fe (Plus the size difference obviously) But Its not like this with the s23fe The 20fe and 21fe were insanely good for their price. And ig samsung reakised this. Thats why the s22fe nevercame out... Well, it kinda did tho. Just names s23fe. Bet their profit margin was too small with the previous ones as they were simply 95% of the regular ones at a much lower price

Being an S21 FE (Exynos 2100) owner for 1.5 years, I can say that: 1- Cameras are excellent (Flagship level). And are only getting better with updates 2- Display is a flagship Dynamic AMOELD 2X. Amazing colors and decent brightness. 3- 6.4" display is the perfect form factor in my opinion. Easy in the hands and at the same time not too tiny. 4- speed and performance are only getting better with updates. 5- Speakers are clear and very loud Cons: 1- Battery life is disappointing. 4-5.5 hours screen on time and poor autonomy on 4G and worse on 5G 2- Heats up quite a bit with heavy gaming and when weather is hot 3- 25W is a despicable charging speed for a semi flagship phone.

Ive always used flagships i currently have an S23 Ultra but i got an A34 as a work phone last year and was really suprised how good it was for the price. I actually get better battery life on the A34 than S23 Ultra which i really like, there just so much more efficient. Looks like this year's lineup even better A55 really punching you actually get alot more for the money rather than a cheap dated plastic FE u get fully glass aluminium phone that has way longer software updates, better battery life, the only slight compromise is slightly weaker cameras but midrange photography has never looked this good. Can't wait to see how A56 pushes this forward next year feel like flagships are a dying breed I think this will be my last ultra i may drop down to the FE next time rather than straight to the A5 lineup Its just so much cheaper than the Ultra looking at half the price of the Ultra. I think the future is FE and A5 for Samsung. I wont be looking to upgrade until 2026 so be interesting to see how good the A57 is by then

S21 FE really has bad battery. I got to charge my phone like 3-4 times a day! It's really horrible. And it's get hot everytime i do hard task on this phone, even when light gaming. Whoever this phone still better than A55, like wireless charging, screen, speaker, camera,etc. Just consider A55 if you want a longer android update, better battery, better build quality, and thats it 👍 Edit : s21 fe got no adaptive refresh rate😅

Is not a focusing problem, when you record on 60fps the s21 fe can't change into lens, so if you zoom while recording on 60fps, you're using the main sensor, that's the reason why i always record 4k 30fps, so i can switch into lenses

S21 FE has terrible battery, that cpu is faster than exynos 1480 but gets hot like damn oven. Plus, A55 has 4 major updates, S21 is almost over. Buy S21 FE only if like to change phone every year, but if keep the phone for 3/4 years buy A55.

The A55 battery is better but s21 fe is good . And it has 1 or 2 OS updates left . Plus it doesn't heat up that much , i have the exynos and when the graphics are too high yes , but that happens to every phone . When i do light to moderate gaming it doesn't . Even when heavy gaming it doesn't get as hot as the A34/54/55 . Edit : this phone also disperses heat very fast , mid range samsung phones just can't do that .

Awesome video! Please weigh in- Brand new A55 or pristine S22ULTRA for just under 200USD more? (From a legit online store with a one year warranty). I don't game and no social media (unless you count YT) But battery life is a big priority for me . I get battery anxiety lol, I'm using an S7 that I got used 2 years ago and the battery is kaka. I get 4 hours on power saving mode.
