Yes. But I finally got rid of the screen protector on my S21 Ultra. The thin film of the protector was taking away a bit of the sleekness of the screen. That said, I have a thin rubber "sleeve" from Samsung on my S21 Ultra. It's so slick to hold otherwise, although I'll often take it out while at home.

It's because a mirror doesn't actually reflect all the light hitting it. It has a reflection rate of about 90% hence a mirror image is somehow in the grayscale
