Trade in deals + Samsung credit are a fraction of what they've been the last 5+ years. I don't recall but last year was like 800 or 900 trade in (note 20 ultra trade in for s22u) + like 250 credit for accessories. I expect sales to be terrible lol, and it's pretty obvious already with ship times not slipping at all.

That's true but sad to see that the curve display is disappearing slowly. Note 10 Plus had the legendary curve. Later, the size/ curve declined to this... now the screen to body ratio is 89.5% as compared to note 10+ with 91%.

Samsung is ripping us off this year, There's no price increase this year, but they're giving you less for your trade-in. Last year, they gave us around $750-$800 for last year's flagship. This year, they will only give you $500. While over on Swappa, the S22 Ultra 256GB is selling for $750. Samsung also gave you upwards of $200 of credits for pre-orders. This year, last I checked, it was around $100. Samsung has the audacity of doing this while trying to sell you virtually the same phone again. C'mon Samsung.

The phones have to compare their latest software and hardware of that year. So the S23U Snap Dragon Gen 2 of this year will compare with the A16 Bionic chip of last year, that doesn’t seem fair even if the A16 is still better.

You know it's funny when Apple Samsung and Google talk about sustainability and not include a power adapter or a case and make the packaging smaller but in this day in age selling a smartphone with a 128 GB and 256 GB storage is a complete waste. We're taking photos, downloading apps, and recording 4K and 8K video on our smartphones which already right there takes up storage. They should make 1 TB and 2 TB phones standard across the board. Btw Samsung bring back the micro SD slot and put a under screen camera and name it the S24 Ultra, because I don't see any point of getting this phone and will still continue using my Note 20 Ultra.

I'm not sure why a phone would need to be brighter than 1750 nits. I currently have the S20 Ultra until my S23 Ultra gets delivered, but even that screen is too bright for me. I usually have the brightness turned down to about a quarter of the way. I don't need my retinas being burned out, lol!

It makes no sense if you own an S22 Ultra to upgrade to the s23, very minor upgrades from the camera to processor to battery life. And the trade in option is horrific from Samsung, 500 for an S22 ultra when it's virtually the same phone. Also need to see a head to head camera battle between this and s22 ultra to see the actual differences When phones add new sensors it tends to struggle for at least the first year, it did it with the pixel for the pixel 6 Pro and Samsung when they went to 108mp on the s20 ultra and its happening with apple for the iPhone 14 pro so I expect the s23 ultra to struggle too and then get back on track on next years s24 ultra as it went back on track for s21 ultra and the pixel 7 pro and I expect the iPhone 15 Pro/ultra to get back on track too

Hi Saf, I would very much appreciate a full comparison with the S21 Ultra version since I am considering and upgrade. Mine is a a 512 GB version and 16 GB of RAM and I am also using the 8GB Ram Plus. This means I have 4GB of RAM more compared to the new S23 Ultra and I am wondering how they fare against one another. More RAM vs newer hardware... Obviously camera upgrades is important too and the improved display technology and difference in refresh rates... Is it worth the upgrade or is the S21 Ultra still a very good phone in 2023? @@axlsalvator Appreciate your comment. I am very satisfied with my S21 Ultra. Probably the best phone I ever had next to the S9+. I do miss the iris scanner for enhanced security and sd card from the S9+ and was very aprehensive with the punch hole camera's but once you get used to the punch hole it is acceptable... I kept my S9+ and it still works great! Maybe wait till the S25 Ultra 🤷🏽‍♂️

@@karimhassoun7732 I'm really glad my perspective helped man. Believe it or not man i still also own the galaxy s9 plus also the black. S8 plus was the peak of the revolution at that time. Then the s21 ultra broke everything by being the new peak we got a glimpse of that from the Note 20. On my country a month ago i went to the shop i was about to give away my s21 ultra 12 gigs and 256 gigs for a s22 ultra 12 gigs and 256 gigs base model by adding also money. I had 3 days to try them out for a 5% faster processor and so to say minimal camera upgrades boi was i wrong in most case scenarios s21 ultra outperformed the s22 ultra on multitasking and sht barely any visible difference. Indeed the s22 ultras design bothered me alot bulkier, square design felt like your typical note series no slick light curved edges. The camera punch design really makes me appreciate it being unique. At the end of the day it all comes doen to personal use but there is absolutely right now no games, no gaming experience no nothing that s21 ultra cant handle at max settings. Trust me in real life the 888 processor was not even visible for the difference so does the 1st gen. Again i'm saying for me personally a person who heavy games i got an rog 6 ultimate also, it's on par with s21 ultra even outperforms it unless you are one of those guys who always needs the highest end device on the market feels that emptiness inside that he does not have it then it's understandable otherwise it wont make sense. It's like going from any Iphone 12, 13, 14 pro almost identical just minimal details with a huge price margin. So spending 1.4k on a smartphone which gives you a tad bit better processor and camera, no thank you. Unless it's a revolutionary margin it wont make sense knowing that the s22 will be cheaper and so does s21. For the camera people might end up buying a Pixel 7 Pro since it outperforms everything and you get the stock android experience otherwise for everything else the Galaxy rocks.

Nah hard pass. Waiting for fold 5. Samsung killed the fun with their boring unpacking with empty box other than the phone. Also S series is more for photos than what the Note used to be. I'm glad I kept my Note 20U. I've been a note user since Note 1. NOTE series was the best of the best in all categories. Would love to see a comparison to the previous leaders of smartphones. Maybe going back 3-4 years. I know that's a lot of content, but for those who don't upgrade every one or two years I think looking for a true comparison to the new S23U to S20, S21, S22 would be nice. There are definite leaps in camera technology and I think it would be nice to compare those to this. Sure you can do the same for Apple and OnePlus etc. Personally I'm looking at Sony if they get their actual act together. Love the new model but it's a tad quirky with multiple apps and features that should be seamless for uneducated camera users

Still can't get over the fact that we have to pay over 1000$ for a phone that doesn't even have a charger, but companies like one plus are putting the power brick, a long cord, a temporary case and stickers in the box for a phone thats less then a 1000$

OnePlus/Oppo/Xiaomi use Chinese government grants to off set their revenue. Samsung/Apple will never compete value wise , solely because of those goverment grants. Xiaomi for example , has literally sold phones at a loss to gain a fan base.

I think it's worth upgrading from note 9 to s23 ultra , right? I still have the note 9 since 2018, but a horizontal green line appeared on the screen after I dropped it accidentally + changed the battery about 2 months . That's why I'm thinking about upgrading .
