Just switched from s20+ to 23+ cause the old one got damaged, have to say as a power user, there's not much difference in performance- there is some, but justifying that kind of a difference in price with a smaller, lower res display and lack of microsd slot is difficult- i would have kept the old s20+, if it wasn't for the unfortunate event. Nevertheless, there definitely is significant progress with camera performance and quality, huge difference in battery life- i finish the day with around 15% left without charging in the meantime, on s20+ i had to charge 3 times a day- the phone was old and battery capacity decreases over time though, so time will tell how much better the new one will be. Flat display is an issue, the phone feels much bigger and its way easier to drop it, even though display is smaller. In plus is of course snapdragon, phone stays cool at all times and most likely consumes much less power. All in all, there are pros and cons, but spending 1200eur on that phone is rather questionable, there is not enough improvement to justify the price.

I've been looking to buy the s20 plus but I can't find it only the newers downgraded ones like the s22 plus or s23 plus. Such a shame I loved Samsung because of their screens with higher resolution now I'm looking for the older versions

Plus the S20 plus got 1440x3200 pixels resolution while the S23 plus got 1080x2340 pixels resolution and if you get the Japanese version of S20 Plus it’s 12gb ram

Relax it's just a 0.1" smaller on paper but because the s23+ has a flat display and a slightly wider 19.5:9 aspect ratio instead of the very narrow 20:9 aspect ratio with the drastic curve which makes v the s23+ feel larger than the s20+

I appreciate this comparison! I've been using my S20+ since the day it came out and I love everything about it. Been debating on upgrading to the S23+ recently after I dropped my S20+ and cracked it a little bit, plus it seems like my battery life is starting to go. @@hasbrobot I ended up getting the S23+ and have loved it since the day it arrived. It's similar to the S20+ in a lot of ways but has some upgrades that I've really been enjoying. Plus I love the design of it!

Literally in the EXACT same situation you were in, dropped my phone for the first time ever the other day and have a slight crack on the back of the phone. A little longer into using it, how are you finding the difference?

@@Galvanize It's a very similar experience just with more polish. It feels a little more quick than the S20+, the battery life is great (I can make it about a day and a half without charging it) camera is top tier and overall I find it to be the S20+ experience in many ways just improved. One of my concerns when upgrading was that I would be losing the microsd slot but as of right now I have everything I had on my old phone, including what was on the microsd and I still have about 150gbs left of storage so that hasn't been an issue at all. I really haven't found anything I don't like about S23+!

My S20+ just went blank screen and it's better to buy another cellphone. :( I have my s20+ since march 2021 and it never let me down, always so fast and great features. But now it died completely hahaha Well, I guess I'll be with samsung forever, the 8k video gets me

I just upgraded my 12GB S20+ (Exynos) to S23+. Very happy with performance and battery life. Snappy and sippy battery. I do actually like the S20+ display and longer form factor more than the S23+. Other are pretty much the same to be honest. Camera of course has improvements and sharper but if all you do is shoot and post on social media, you probably won't notice much diff.. Front cam is much sharper and allows you to change the warm face tone. Love it.

I upgraded from my s20+ to a pixel 7 pro, loved it for all of about 6 weeks before it went faulty and the camera lens glass popped from overheating (known design flaw), back using my s20+ while i battle ID mobile and google, but looked at s23+ and it hust doesnt seem enough of an upgrade to justify the price difference. I can get the battery replaced on my s20+ for £45 which will help it run faster too, and s20+ has some features superior to s23+ such as 1440p VS 1080p and the SD slot. The camera is still great and nearly as good as s23+, but i could get a SIM only deal for £10 per month, whereas the s23+ would be like £40 per month, cant justify the price difference with such little improvements. The 4 years of software updates is a factor, but i think it will take an upgrade to the s23 ultra to make it worthwhile. (Not the s22 ultra as exynos is inferior to snapdragon) Thinking i might go SIM only again and wait for a easter deal on the s24 ultra next year. Battery is still decent on my s20+ as long as i run it in power saver. They seemed to make the gap between the s23+ and s23 ultra bigger so the ultra was worth the upgrade, i think they realised they made a mistake making the s20+ and s20 ultra too close and people thought "im not paying all that extra cost just for more zoom"

I compared my two phones (had to switch to s23plus because of the screen of my S20 plus which is loosing pixels) and the videos on 20+ are way better than 23+, unless I just don't know how to use it but I don't see the upgrade, same for pictures, more depth and détails on 20+ while s23+ is overexposing the picturez, and there are a lot of pixels seen whenever you zoom in.

You're wrong.. You're not getting more base storage on the S23. The maximum base storage on the S23 plus is 512 gb. The Maximum for the S20 plus is 512 gb. Because I'm using the S20 right now. I got 12 gb of ram, 512 gb internal storage and 1 terabyte of external storage. Making my S20 plus have well over 1.5 terabyte of storage all together. You probably got an S20 plus model with only 128 gb of internal storage that's why. 🤷🏿‍♂️

Dropped my faithful s20fe 8/256 in a lake. Debated what to get next, got an s20+ 12/128 such a sweet phone for 230!holy ishh. Absolutely no reason to get a phone 3x that price! Just ordered a 512gb sd on Amazon to boot for less than $25!😂

I still use my S20+ and not regret not buy S23+, honestly S23+ is downgrade from. S20+. and the design is close to Aple it's ugly lol when Samsung loss their confidence by using IPhone design languages. Share amsung not confident in the market anymore?
