S5 /S5 Neo better because: Changeable battery , 16mp camera vs 13 , faster processor but slower GPU, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, dual-band, Wi-Fi Direct, hotspot vs Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, dual-band, WiFi Direct, hotspot. It comes down to practical daily use. S5 neo doesn't have Gorilla Glass but the A5 does. Both phones are awsome but there is just 10% difference between S/S5neo and A5. If you are going to use your phone more than 3-4 years i would go for the S5 because of changeable battery. If you change your phone every 2 year A5 would be a smarter option :). Tho in my opinion a phone with changeable battery has more value over time than a phone that doesn't. Who wants to buy a phone with dead (nonchangeable)battery anyway?

When S5 came out in 2014, it was worth high-end, but now it would probably be equivalent to a mid-range smartphone like A5 (2016). So Galaxy A5 (2016) and S5 would be very comparable.

I do not know if this is true but Samsung can drop S5 performance by releasing updates. Also S5 was way faster when it was on Lollipop. Also Marshmallow was pretty heavy for S5 thats why A5 2016 (on lollipop) outperforms S5 with a term of performance.

And also some says that the glass overheats on S5 that why its terrible. That is not true at all it was because of apps using HD Graphics which pretty much overheat the glass of the phone.

The only reason I stick to samsung is the removable battery.. but i guess s5 is my last samsung device. The only part of mobile devices that doesn't have much technologically advancement after the time goes by is battery. I'm looking forward in the future for a smart phone with a smart battery. :D

Wisdom Erwin Samsung launched its (a) series back in October 2014 (a3-a5-a7) One year later, they announced that they will upgrade their phones... They launched the new a series in December 2015 [a3(6)-a5(6)-a7(6)] It seems they will do so this year..... The (6) refers for the 2016 model

you know whats funny... when A5 wins, is ohhhhh, when s5 wins, it ah ok... The S5 its a 2 year old phone, still upgraded, competing against a brand new optimized phone with optimized hardware, and the A5 still looses tests... simply exclude the different (newly optimized) apps like weather and camera and thats about it. Even on optimized new versions of thouchwiz for the A5 still worse multitasking... of course S5 could do better, but if it dont get more updates simply put a new rom and it will still be faster, maybe as twice as fast (both with custom roms). maybe it will watch itself be faster on a tv via MHL. dont get me worng, great vid, thanks, but just wanted to say this...

MrIchikun21 From my experience , go for the S5 ,the A5 lags a little bit if your usage is heavy and you are doing multitasking , but you will get worse FP scanner and the old Touchwiz with the S5..Screen is better on the A5 , way better
