The Galaxy S5 is a perfect phone if that is what you're looking for. I had the N3 and was waiting for the N4, until I couldn't wait and got the S5 for cheap. If bigger is better, then the Mega 2 would be my choice, but 5.1 screen is just perfect in the hand and the colors on the S5 just stands out. I just love Samsung phones and the N4 would be my choice, but I'm just happy as can be with my S5!

Adreno 330 on the note 3 runs at a lower clockspeed though, it's a little less powerful than the Adreno 330 of the s5.

I was just at Sprint and the rep tried to sell me on the S5 over the Note 3. I feel pretty comfortable with picking the Note 3 after watching this. Yeah the S5 is better in some performance tests, but they're close and the Note 3 just has so much more to offer.

I currently have the Samsung s5 I've had it for two months. I'm going back to the note 3 tomorrow. The things I had to do to get this phone to run Simi smoothly... I never had a problem with my note 3 other than single because it was an unlocked verizon one and I was using it with att. Absolutely loved my note can't wait until I get another one tomorrow.

Great review Marc. But I disagree when you said the Note series get more than the S series. For example, the S3 has seen more updates than the note 2. And the S4 got updated before the note 3. Both phones are on par. Samsung is king of technology right now. Can't go wrong with either.

Marc, something is definitely wrong with some of your benchmarks. With my T-Mobile Note 3, I average between 2700 to just under 3000 on Geekbench. This is while on 4.2.2 kit kat as well. The same goes for your 3d Mark score, which should be a couple of thousand points higher. The Galaxy S5 uses essentially the same SoC, just with a higher clockspeed on the CPU and GPU. This means it should score slightly higher on most benchmarks when compared to the Note 3. Other than that, great video. I also agree that the Note 3 is a better phone overall.

I know that Samsung galaxy s5 is better at performance but I would more prefer Samsung Galaxy Note 3 for better big screen experience. I need more review for gaming experience like, when you playing the same game at both Note 3 and S5 at the same time.. I wondering which phone will be going overheat at first. My guess is, a Samsung S5 probably easily get overheat because of it CPU too high but the ram is too low to compare with CPU. that's all,sorry for my bad English but I do super like this channel!! :)

My note 3 hits 36000 all day. I believe his devices were not only warm but also had more apps in notification. Should never compete with both running apps not closed. Due to one or other being ran down. Ask any note 3 owner on snapdragon 800. Quad. I'm not bragging on note 3. I have all the latest phones but not s5. And personally I do like it but find its hardly an upgrade for the price. Anyway. I'll stick with note 3 running easy 35 and 36 ..and if you look on antutu you'll see the base mark of the note 3 all day. Lmao. But good video. Trust me when I say this is not me in bias over owning a note 3. I have several newer flagship devices. I love them all and I don't compare. But this test was not accurate to the usual marks that I see. However the s5 should be higher as well. My point is. Both are too low. Close the apps. Reboot then when cooled to regular op temp re run. Bam. Peace. I'll do a review as well. About to start my own channel. 1BassJohn yes. It is. If you like crisper higher pixel ratio. I believe the g2 is like 423 on a 5.2....note 3 is 386 on a 5.7 on note 3. I'm into crisp. But I go back and forth. Actually note 3 is much better tech than note 2 screen and s3 etc. The pentile matrix has improved. But it's still there and is not called pentile anymore but is same principle. Anyway the note 3 gets me aggravated at times due to its size while typing. I hardly use the s pen. But its useful. Honestly the only fault I personally have issues with on lg g2 is the keyboard. Not the keyboard itself. But I guess because I came from nexus 4 as prior to note 3 s4 and then g2 so the keyboard is great but no matter how I position the softkeys on its custom resizing in order I ALWAYS HIT HOME OR MENU WHEN MEANING TO HIT THE SPACE BAR!!!? And yes it really made me mad. But I did sell the first one it was white. Leaving me more time with note 3..I missed the g2 so. I got another one. Black. Lol. I am selling one. So I'm not sure which to keep. But I totally think you'll make no mistake. They are both bad asses. Keep in mind that the screen is still nice in note 3. And I have found that the camera takes great pics and almost better than g2. Hard call bro. Go and look at them in person. That's your best bet. Peace.

Robert Clark one more thing. G3 soon out. It will have 2k screen. Lol. But the note 4 later will be a true upgrade unlike s4 to s5. Which unless your loaded is not worth the price tag especially since all carriers in us other than T-Mobile are killing the new WiFi LTE faster AC data speeds. That sucks. Lol. Locking down a selling point. But that's because if your on fixed data you'll go over I guess easier. Idk

I noticed that there were multiple apps running in the background during the different tests. I dont know if that affected the results but wouldve probably been smart to turn off all the apps in the backround and clear the ram to rule out any issues with ram.

The BEST case from these phones is the Otter Box. They are pricey but they will protect your phone. Also, the cases have been stream lined so that they aren't bulky like the iPhone cases.

I have the galaxy s5 and I love it, I don't experience any lag, unless I have a crap load of apps open. I can run just about any game on the app store, the screen still looks beautiful, fits perfectly in my hands, great battery life (also charges quickly) and is, still, an overall great phone. I guess I just appreciate what I have here.

as a fellow geek, I personally have used my phone to do programming on my arduino board.. a little hackish... but it works. along with putting a keyboard and mouse on there and doing some shell connection over ssh, it's frekkin AWESOME to do on the Note 3. S5 got slitghly more points in ice storm unlimited, but it had unstable frames with constant ups and downs while note 3 didn't and ran 60 fps all the time.

If you notice, the S5 is brighter than the Note 3, Howeverrrrr, the Blacks on the Note 3 are much more Black than the S5....The S5 looks kind of washed out.... 3:53 Overall I think the Note 3 has a better screen, the colors and brightness of it are perfect, the colors look more real compared to the S5.

Lollipop made a huge difference on my Note 3. Seems really fast compared to the kitkat 4.4.2. Good luck with any devise you choose.

Note 3 is bigger than s5 but still slightly slower than s5. S5 has such features for camera that i have never seen before. Slow 60fps video capture which looks very awesome, slo mo recording and fast motion recording, selective focus which very awesome too. I have personally given a water test on my s5 and it worked out really good. My sister has an note 3 but when i saw all these difference then i went for s5 which i am very much happy with.

dumpbut No reason to with lollipop coming out for the note 3 in january on t-mobile. You can't tell the difference between 1080p and 1440p on such a small screen, and the note 3 is smooth as butter, when I used the Note 4 at sprint it was laggy.

It's how you use your phone. It depends on what user type are you. I'm a student, and I use my phone as a tool. And the S5's size is a perfect grip for my hands. For me, it's about function before screen size.

I used to have the s5. But I did not like android 4.3 and I did not like the design so I got the galaxy note 3 and it was exactly the same and sold it now I have the galaxy s3. And I love it.

The reason it looks whiter is because you have to change the color on the note 3. They look identical once you have done that.

In regard to the whites if the 2 screens, you will notice that they will become "less white" over time on amoled screens due to the organic technology used. So look at the S5 screen in 6 months and it's likely to look the same as your note 3 does now, this is the downside of amoled screens...they look great at first but degrade over time.

my honest advice the best is one can carry with u always and put it in ur pocket . the note 3 is with big screen great performance and multitasking but i cant put it in my pocket so i use it only in home like tab so i prefer smaller phones with good perfomance. have a nice day
