Success for this total novice! Thanks! But... I had one to harvest from and cracked that back glass learning. Also my kitchen infra red thermometer was a comfort while heating. Two segments of a snap off blade got me started, guitar picks finished it up.

In step 2 there are two forgotten problems. First: remove the sim slot before you can remove the Motherboard. Second: There is one screw more to remove as shown in the Video.

It wouldn't damage the software problem but the water resistant.But notice that it takes a little efforts to open the back glass.The adhesive very sticky.

Replaced the volume cable without removing the motherboard.

If it is volume button, you dont even need to remove motherboard, or any connection other than button's.

you don't need to disassemble thr whole motherboard and battery. You can just disconnect the buttons and take them out
