+chazzaladd LOL what are you talking about it's going to rust inside if water gets inside it's basically not going to work anymore it's as simple as that I've had a Galaxy S5 that's not as water resistant as the Galaxy S7 Edge almost 2 years dunking it underwater no problems you just have to follow Samsung's recommendations 5 feet of water no more than 30 minutes do not force water like a waterfall or under the faucet LOL it's not going to rest it'll be just fine already 30 million sold and it always depends who's doing the drop test I've seen Galaxy S7 Edge is at my computer and phone repair shop with no cracks from dropping it flat and I've seen iPhone 6s and 6s Plus not working at all so it all depends get a good screen protector in an nice spegin air cushion military tested case!! I love the ZAGG screen protectors Invisible Shield dry if they put on professionally they go right back in shape if it then gets in it like memory foam love it dropped my Galaxy S7 Edge already 50 times used in pools sprinklers everywhere no problems had it for about 4 months

+SUPERTRIP™ probably not in this case. watch jerryrigeverything's teardown video on the s7egde (s7 is similar). you have to almost fully disassemble the s7 using a heat gun and being careful not to crack the back glass while you're at it. if you have the warranty and/or good enough ensurance for the phone you should just send it in for a replacement

Did you see if the display (not the glass screen) was what cracked? I rode in a rollercoaster with my S6 once and after found it to be the same result as your drop test. No cracks on the screen and the soft keys lit up but nothing on the display. Looking closer I could actually see the display underneath was broken in half

2 things don't make sense... 1. who doesn't get a good case when purchasing a 700+ phone??? 2. he didnt try to reset the s7 phone at all. hold the home button and lock screen button on the side for a few seconds and it resets the phone. my s5 I had did the same thing and when I reset it, was working fine..... p.s. I haven't used a case for my last three phones (s4, note3, and some lg phone) only the s4 cracked. Guess I just wanted to say that some people hate cases because they make the phone so bulky, and not everyone needs one, especially girls who usually have a purse nearby they can tuck it away in.

??????? The glass and the MOLED are 2 different things! The AMOLED cracks are cracks that are not on the surface that you can't feel. These always disrupt the picture and often make the screen stop working! Glass cracks just are on the surface and might cut your fingers!

everything apple pro's drop test both phones completely survived normal drops but the galaxies always the lcd would die for some reason but it shows that its down to complete luck and that it is completely random wether the phone survives or not

I'd have to say when you dropped that s7 it must have been enough to jolt the wire that powers the screen out, I've sent the s6 apart and those wires don't seem to hold on tightly. could be the same for the s7 or worse in this case.

The drop for the S7 probs hit that little sweet spot and knocked out the display cable is all. Plug it back in and it'll be fine

I just dropped my s7 edge a few days a go. Unfortunately didn't replace my screen protector and paid the price. There was a lot of shattering and a pixel died on the left side of the screen, but hey! The screen works fine and I dropped it on a real floor surface, the road. So techrax, try going out there and testing em.

I think that the reason why the S7 didn't post was because the display adapter might've been disconnected from the motherboard... It could also be a soldering problem. I believe that if you tried putting the phone in an oven and let it heat up a bit, the solder panels might be hot enough to connect again. That drop was pretty shaky on the components, so i would not be suprised if the solid liquid broke apart... Also, it was really amazing to see no cracks on the screen, Samsung really made quite a comeback with the durability. The major problem with today's smartphones is that people just care about the screen and how it survives a good beating, instead of paying more attention to the components... If company's made some kind of carbon-fiber or aluminium frame surrounding the components, and therefore reinforcing them and boosting the amount of shakiness the motherboard can take, the phones could be way more durable than they currently are. Also, why not have a thin layer of ballistic gel under the glass? This would make the display bouncy, decreasing the chances of the phone breaking and, if needed, could stop a 9mm bullet from piercing through and getting to the important stuff. No joke, true suggestion...

samsung galaxay s 7 only got a black screen that happens to me sometimes and to take it off hold the volume down and power button for 20 or 30 seconds

My s7 cracked last week with the case on when I dropped it it had a glass screen protector. The protector was fine but my screen was 25% shattered luckily the lcd was okay and it was still functional. I got the screen replaced $250 since the phone is still new and expensive. but yeah I case that covers the front now

Maybe the odd screen connector became loose after you dropped it.
