Sorry to say that, but your speed test doesn't show a winner. The difference is so tiny that you can consider that they have similar speeds. Also, having a screen with a refresh rate higher than 60Hz would probably make the user experience better in the A52.

Great comparisson man. Was looking around youtube for quite a while for this one. A52 rivals the S9 performance so very interesting to compare these 2 devices. Mainly to see how far a "midrange" device has progress. A thought to add. With current development of phones, one could say the midrange phones 3 years from now will rival the s20/s21. Even if i have the budget for 1000usd phones, They are not attractive for anyone to buy when you know they will basically be considered unmodern in less than 2 years of being out in the market and basic mid tier phones run passed them.

Exactly, you are right. Galaxy A52 also performed better in camera when I compared it with Galaxy S8+ and Galaxy S10.

3 years on and the A54 has not caught onto the S20, except in terms of software and battery life. While it is close, performance and camera quality are still a bit behind. It just goes to show how futureproof the S series has become. This is due to the fact that most improvements have been software and processing-related. The S21 and S20 have the exact same sensors. The S22 and S23 share their sensors. But every year with the S6 to S10, the sensors did change (save for the rather incremental change from S7 to S8).

Good review. Thanks a lot. By the way, I think the still camera results are very similar, and the slight variations are most likely due to focusing. I mean even the same phone will take the same shot slightly differently each time: sometimes there'll be a tad more detail, sometimes there will be a tad less. One thing is for sure: the phone that has more optical image stabs is better for video. Ideally, each camera has to have an optical stabilization. It also looks like they might be downgrading mid range phones on purpose so that they don't load very fast (or as fast as old flagships) but this last thought is just a random guess and I won't be more than 50% sure about it. I might be paranoiac but it seems to me that they deliberately skew the colors on cheaper phones and botch the screen brightness. Again, I might be a bit paranoiac--they probably don't do it on purpose. But... Who knows....I'm considering now what is to buy. I'm actually choosing between the old Galaxy S10 Plus and the A53. And after watching some of your excellent videos I think that I should go with the S10+. *Thanks for the truthful videos! I'm subscribing!*
