I wish reviewers would highlight the performance disparity between the US and international models. The snapdragon variant has always been inferior to the exynos model. I’m not talking about any geek bench but day to day usage. The exynos lags less, overheats less, and is more battery efficient.

@Tigerkem6 жыл бұрын
Prince Brown I believe the Exynos only downside is that CDMA carriers such as Verizon doesn't support it due to Qualcomm's patent. Otherwise you shouldn't have any problems on he other non-CDMA carriers and you're probably more likely to get an update on a European/International device rather than a carrier locked device in the U.S.

They just dumbed down the S9 to make the S9+ look better. Seems like they're learning from Apple. You mean to tell me they have mid-range phones with 6Gb of RAM across Asia and they put 4Gb in their top of the line model? Incredible.
@jackyyo19986 жыл бұрын
Ricardo Ramos because they don't really need that much ram? Asia phone need that much cus their optimisation is bad
@jackyyo19986 жыл бұрын
Also the S9+ does have 6gb ram and apps never reload
@RicardoRamos5516 жыл бұрын
jacky yo First of all, you just contradicted yourself. Second, I'm talking about Samsung phones in Asia, they make them, why wouldn't they be optimised? There also was a S8+ with 6Gb of RAM only available in some countries so don't give me that bullshit.
@jackyyo19986 жыл бұрын
Ricardo Ramos stop getting so triggered😂😂😂. I'm pretty sure all S9+ has 6gb of ram. And I did not contradict my self. Just because the S9+ has 6 GB of ram doesn't mean it really needs 6gb of ram in daily or even most hardcore use. The S9 shows that the same software runs perfectly on 4gb of ram. So did the s8, S7, s6. 4 GB of ram is more than enough for phones at this moment. Unless the apps starts to use more ram 6gb unnecessary
@RicardoRamos5516 жыл бұрын
jacky yo Who said some S9+ don't have 6Gb of RAM? Do you know how to read? Unless you already have an S9, I doubt you can claim the same software runs flawlessly on both, and the software that comes out of the box is hardly a good benchmark for how a phone performs, since in most cases, it's the fastest it'll ever be. Samsung phones need all the RAM they can get. Even if it might not be needed for most users, it's a future proof spec that was purposely taken away from the S9 to make the S9+ look better.

It looks like it has a better camera but the S9's camera doesnt seem far behind

If only the aperture had continuous change rather than two discreet values (i.e. F/1.5 and F/2.4).The fact that 1.5 kicks in only below 100 lux is a huge bummer, since it implies most of the times it's using f/2.4
@raphaelnwalozie19416 жыл бұрын
Prateek Mishra you can manually change it in pro mood
@chrisak496 жыл бұрын
Exactly. Most of the time it’s 2.4 which is even worse than S8 at 1.7

raphael nwalozie right...cause everyone has time to change into pro mode when a photo opportunity comes up. Eye rolls
@prateekmishra73186 жыл бұрын
Most of the times the shots that need to be taken are instantaneous, thus not allowing the time to switch to pro mode and change the aperture.
@svetlanavivalova65436 жыл бұрын
chrisak49 You don't need a Ph.D. to change the setting, though I can imagine you would find it difficult. I don't think you know much about cameras, 2.4 is better in normal light, 1.5 is for low light. It's actually very logical and a good idea, OEM's only went from 1.8 to 1.7 to 1.6 etc. to improve low light, but it creates issues with dynamic range. Having variable solves the problems.

more differences on the plus model are not good in my eyes... You pay so much money for the normal SO and you think you will get a FLAGSHIP but no and the only reason for this is because you don't want a phablet but a smaller smartphone... The SO has managed that way better... "plus" only should mean more display and battery and not more features...

Raja Mag Dich Differences are display , battery , telephoto lens , that's it
@rehaankhan12606 жыл бұрын
Ishkaran Brar The biggest one, at least for me, is the lesser RAM. 4GB in 2018 is budget territory. Samsung's UI needs 6 GB at least. That's why the S8/S8+ slowed down in a few months while the Note 8 is still going strong. That extra 2 gigs is a really big deal!!
@ishkaranbrar3136 жыл бұрын
Rehaan Khan Yeah u r right , maybe Samsung is trying play apple game by giving less ram and reduce expenditure of production Btw I also have a samsung A8 2016 and it has 4 GB ram and it works quite smooth , I have not really noticed any major lag

Ikr wasn't it jaime himself who praised the s8+ for having a bigger screen and not making it different from s8. Now in this video he's saying he likes that the plus is the better option

The S8+ Was around £120 more than the S8 last year and only had a bigger screen and battery. This year the price difference is about the same but you get more with the plus , battery ,ram ,camera ,screen etc. So in real terms it's better value compared to last year..
@Shadow77586 жыл бұрын
The only think it should mean is that it’s bigger, that’s it. They’re taking the choice out of the customers hands by giving the plus a better spec even though some people want a smaller phone

Just got the S9+ so here's what I found out: It lacks Quick Charge 3.0 and feels slow charging compared to my previous device the LG V30. The camera is good but not great, it ONLY goes to 9.1mp at 16:9 aspect ratio which is lame considering they've been at the same specs since the S6. Yes, they've improved it over time but the specs have not changed since then. The 6GB RAM has been great but I did get a few hickups during setup where it froze and had to reboot it. Now that it's setup it runs like a champ. One thing I'd like to see Samsung add would be the touch screen gestures that LG has on their devices. In particular the double tap to wake up feature. The one thing I absolutely LOVE and was the main reason I switched was the speakers. Man they sound amazing! LG really needs to get their game up when it comes to the speakers and screen. The S9+ screen is way more bright. The slow mo is a gimmick cause you can only do a few secs of recording and the 4k is as well because you can only record at 4k for only 5mins. I only shoot 1080p@60fps anyways so well see how that goes. Overall this phone definitely feels like an upgrade and I'm glad I updated cause the LG's faults were driving me nuts. But don't get me wrong that was one sexy bitch she just needs some polishing and has the capability to take down Samsung if only they took the time to make it right.

Compared to some other phones as iPhone X or Huawet P20Pro I fing it better rounded smartphone with all elements perfectly in harmony. I have European model with 256 GM memory. Paid around 920 $ what doesn't look too much given all strong points.

...Nice that Samsung finally utilized its acquisition of Harman-Kardon/AKG in late 2016, but the speaker configuration is hardly anything new (Two individually amped high and low rangers), having been introduced in 2016 on the HTC 10 and copied later in the year by the iPhone 7, with both manufacturers still using the placement on later models... Now the S9/S9+ and Asus Zenphone 6 also have this feature... Now that both Apple and Sammy have it, everyone (except maybe Pixel 3) will be sporting these speakers...

Some says battery is worse, others says it's better. The same goes for UI smoothness! That remains to be verified as time goes. The auto Super Slow Mo feature confirms the thoughts that I have that it can be tricky!

Its battery life is worse than S8+ and the cameras (both front and rear) are not as good as other flagships of 2018 or at the end of 2017.

Guess nobody buys a phone anymore to call people. Hard to find videos from people talking about the sound quality of phone calls. On S9+ it sucks big time, and it is a big disappointment. The sound is muffled, metallic, distorted, looks like it passes through a tube.

The s9+ is still a bloated s8. It’s just this year Samsung removed features from the smaller device to justify having to models. I’m really disappointed Samsung decided to go that route.

MarkC538 Truth, but neither for me are deal breakers...for me. Only those who rely on their phones to consume content (as opposed to those with tablets or laptops) are displaying extreme levels of consternation.
@Tigerkem6 жыл бұрын
Agreed, I don't get the point in punishing those who want a smaller device with less features.

I have a S8+ and I watch videos & streams 24/7. At first I did not want a S8 for that reason (cropping), but it literally is negligible. I have zero issue with it especially considering all the other benefits a longer screen provides with day to day tasks and games.

Put iOS into this phone then it will be great, edit: or pure android, samsung's UI is the major reason I will stay as far as away from it, new system update took forever to push, 1 year maybe longer, IOS 11 is a unsuccessful system but it least I can receive major updates for 3 years or more..

Jaimie, the way you changed your video style is good however the transitions used are very discrete as in they don't blend in as well as they used to in your previous ones. I love watching your videos even though I have no intention of buying the s9.
