The Samsung Galaxy Tab Active3 is an 8-inch premium tablet running Android 10. Due to its fast Exynos processor, it's faster than any other Android tablet. At the same time, it offers lots of interesting features like the S Pen, Samsung DeX, and the LTE version can be used as a phone.
Now, the Galaxy Tab Active3 is a very robust tablet. And that means the design isn't the greatest. It looks a bit old due to its thick screen bezels and plastic body. But it's water and dust resistant and you can even remove the battery.

Seems like a large phone! I could benefit from the larger screen to make it easier for me to read my personal notes and books. My cell phone screen is too small for anything more than a shopping list, for me anyway. And I'm old so I wouldn't care if I looked funny talking into such a large device. It would also make texting easier too. Gosh. I'm talking myself into trying one!

I just recently dusted off my old note 8 tablet which is an absolutely beautiful piece of technology. Thats when I started looking for a replacement and found this. I agree with your sentiment, add wireless dex, 8gb ram, stereo speakers, and make the s pen fit into the tablet.then it would be perfect! The only thing is that if they did that then they would probably remove headphone jack, physical buttons, removable battery and it would be so expensive that nobody would buy it.

A very informative review. Thank you! I am wondering if the connectors on the Active3 edge work with any previous Galaxy keyboard. Bring able to take notes on a transparent page while watching an underlying video is GREAT! Dividing an 8-inch screen in half to watch video in one 4-inch half while trying to take meaningful notes on the other 4-inch half of the display would be so terribly restrictive -- -- and counter-productive! ALSO GREAT: BIG ENOUGH to use as a Tablet _plus_ SMALL ENOUGH to use as a phone -- -- just ONE DEVICE to carry around. I hope Samsung makes it easy to obtain the LTE models in the States and does _not_ screw around with model variations as it did with the original Galaxy Note8 Tablet.

Also has LOUD audio, even tho the speakers aren't in necessarily prime locations it really projects!You do need to get a case for this bad boy IMMEDIATLY though as it doesn't come with one.Battery life is really good! Standby time us FANTASTIC. This guy can go about a week on standby and be just fine. The screen is massive so the longer you have the screen on, brightness especially, it will effect battery life. I am very happy with it though!One thing that I didn't consider is that since the screen resolution is so high, viewing ticktocks/ reading webtoons can be slightly blurry. There is no way to turn down resolution either, so it just be like that.Would still judge this bad boi at 10/10 for my first tablet. I've had it 3 months now and its not shown any evidence of "slowing down" or anything. Love it!

They should make it a line like with their new wear os watches,a Galaxy tab 4 active and Galaxy tab 4 and they should both have s pens.the active can be rugged like usual while the regular version should have thin bezels like the tab s7 and have a magnetic s pen,it would be a great competitor for the new ipad mini 6

How is the screen brightness compared to the S6 Lite, and Tab A7? I'm looking to replace a Nvidia Shield K1 (8"screen), and I've been looking at the S6L & A7, both in 10", but the Active 3 may be a better gaming tablet... Thing is I like a brighter screen for movies and videos, and I don't know how they all compare.

Desktop “DEX” mode on an 8 inch tablet. I wish the recent Tab A 8 models had that feature. I’m not sure I like the old school ruggedized build, but I’m glad there’s a more premium alternative to the stagnant 8” tablet market. The form factor of even the latest the iPad Mini 5 will be roughly 9 years old this November!

I own this tablet for about 2 weeks, it's great I like the size of it. The performance is OK I haven't had and issues with processing power, only problem I had when I was watching KZbin it started to make a cracking sound from the speaker I reset it and haven't noticed it since also what people don't mention is the flash light is extremely bright for a mobile device it's amazing. I don't like that the included case/ cover stops usb c drive fitting in the tablet. It's kind of an annoying oversight, the usb c otg that Samsung includes with their other phones won't fit in this tablet without taking off the included case first. Really disappointing. Great review BTW I bought it because you gave us great information on it, thanks

yes you can use it for gaming, how ever if your looking to download games that require 2G or more of space id recomend you get a minnie sd card and transfer your games to the card giving you more space on your tablet

04/01/22 Was looking at the A7 Lite, but I wanted a more powerful tablet. Tab Active3 seems like the perfect tablet for a smaller form factor, unfortunately it is over overpriced. Cheapest price in AUS is $635.86 for the Tab Active 3 Wi-Fi 64GB. They should make a non-rugged version without 4G/LTE and put the price way down.

According to a German sales page, it'll get security updates for 4 years after the launch date. So, it should be updated until the end of 2024. And according to Lenovo's Update Matrix, the M9 will get security updates until April of 2025. So, a couple of month longer.
