My s⁹ultra is pretty great so far, used mainly for University/College stuff... Writing Notes, Online Homework, reading E-text books, etc... having a giant screen is very helpful for reading academic PDF files, and the stylus does very good as a highlighter. I try to avoid using for leisure activities, but watching movie on the big screen while walking on a treadmill is very good. The few games I've played were all good. It's a fantastic device. I bet the media tech CPU will be great, because all the modern smart TVs use media tech CPUs now, and Qualcomm has gone bonkers with snapdragon, and yet Samsung now sells a snapdragon laptop that's having good specs, so it's no surprise they don't want to compete with themselves.

Is the mediatek really as bad as everyone seems to say it is? I’ve read where it’s pretty comparable and besides heavy gaming (Which may make it the same as previous generation snap?) Is it worse? I use a s24 ultra as my main phone and have a iPad Pro that is awesome but doesnt work as great with the eco system and would like to get a tablet from Samsung.

Same as you, 24ultra, and iPad Pro. After looking at actual benchmarks of the Mediatek 9300+ I'm less apprehensive now. It's looking really powerful so far.

mediatek is great and just a little behind snapdragon. one of the bigger differences is for emulation where it lacks some drivers it needs to run some emulators well, which is where it gets the bad rep.

its not some of their midrange producing over 1m on benchmarks. the problem is the risk of getting hacked cause its chinese made. theyre hella greedy lately theyve been claiming lands and sea area that isnt in their territory. you could imagine what they could do if they really want to hack everybody with 1 click those chips are accessible to them.youll realize why they sell those chinese phones so cheap it because it would spread all over the world in an instant easier access to peoples info and assetts

I think the processor change is relevant in 3 ways. 1) Like M4 Ipads, just for a Tablet, its an overkill to have flagship chip. 2) They can supply with third party chipset faster/in/within time frame. 3) Hopefully, can work on pricecut.😅😅😅

Its not irrelevant considering the power consumption improvements for the dimensity 9400 or 8gen4. In addition to that, mediatek doesn’t has a good drivers support, it will take some time to reach snapdragon (noticeable in emulation and games)

I am reading a lot of comments like "no snapdragon no buy", or "shitty chinese mediatek" etc... which is absolutely nonsense and shows how some people are narrow thinking (no offense but it is truth). In todays market where apple charges 1500$+ for an ipad pro which is with all respect a wonderfully engineered device but still can not be used as a compact pc with all the features a pc can do and moreover you can not fully take advantage of the M4 chip etc... It is overpowered for nothing for 1500$. What you are going to do with it (media consumption, drawing, note taking as a student, multitasking, gaming, etc...) is totally doable with a much much cheaper chip and device, like a samsung with a mediatek to keep the prices competitive hopefully under 1100$. I can fully understand where someone says I need one particular app or use case which is only available on ipad pro or says I definitely need the latest and greatest snapdragon gen3 because I use it for...something... But the 99% of the buyers won't. It does not matter how many apps you will run simultanously or multitask 3-4-5 apps on the screen while note taking and using the calculator and function drawjng app like geogebra with youtube watching ldctures or something. It does not matter, the mediatek chip will still shine. I know it for sure, because I do heavy multitasking like described on my tab s7, everything is fluid as f. on this 4 year old device. I rather buy the mediatek if it keeps the prices competitive than paying significantly more for the same user experience. People should start to think critically and should stop beeing in this kind of nonsense blind fanboy mindstate, which they can not even argue for.

Stfu, I just returned a MediaTek 8300 tablet because it didn't let me play my games ok highest settings, not because it couldn't but it wouldn't due to lack of optimisation, so yeah, no snap dragon, no buy

Snapdragon devices have proven track record of stable performance and reliability for long term use. Not something that can be said for Mediatek chips. It is not about benchmark scores of Snapdragon or Mediatek. You have a much better chance of the device being reliable and stable for long term use if it runs on a snapdragon chip than mediatek crap. You don't even need the latest snapdragon, even a year or two old will do fine. By all means feel free to buy cheap mediatek crap but stop hating on people who are intelligent enough to know the worth of snapdragon chips. They know what they are doing and you don't due to being a cheapskate douchebag. On last note, keep your fake generalisations (99 percent or what not) with yourself. Thank you

Dimensity 9300 is better for multitasking. Multicore raw power is a little behind Snapdragod, but you'll never need this in usage. It's is the fastest processor out there.
