Thanks, think im going with the s4 since im using this for art, and although it offers slightly less s-pen versatility, the better performance (higher resolution canvases when drawing, less latency, etc) and better display outweigh the cons.

@@FilthyCasualTech You know... it's kind of SAD actually. It's not like Samsung DOESN'T know what the people want & enjoy. People prefer AMOLED panels (high refresh rate if possible). They'd prefer to have the headphone jack available. And they like having the tablet, not too big as to maintain portability. But for some strange reason, it's like Samsung isn't giving the people everything they'd LIKE to have in a tablet, for some odd reason. (Not to mention, if you really want to get FUNKY with it... how the hell is Samsung cutting support, for the device that is MORE POWERFUL.... just because it's older?)

Yep, really not happy that support is what kills it - shame rom devs never really got on board the S4. I always just assume it lets them rerelease similar stuff like the A8 and push people into buying the 7+/8+ for AMOLED - but they're huge!

I got a security update for my tab s4 just over a month ago, and believe me, with Nova Launcher Prime along with a few developer options tweaks the tablet still works like a charm. I even prefer it when compared to my daughter's tab s7. The display is just superior in every way and I don't see any differences in performace for the use I give to it (running my business on the go, consuming media, and occasional classic gamimg).

In defense of the s4, its worth mentioning that any artists WILL be using a case for a multitude of reasons and both tablets are compatible with any other s pen or wacom emr pens. Secondly, both have DEX, but the S4 can output over HDMI, making that feature far more useful than it would be on a non video out tablet like the s6 lite Not that i think dex on a tablet is too useful anyway. Makes much more sense on a phone connecting to monitor, but still

@janhavibhosle9999 any Wacom stylus using EMR tech will work with any galaxy tab. Those are the battery free pens that rely on a digitizer layer under the tablet screen(a feature shared by Galaxy tabs and Wacom pen displays). Wacom also makes AES pens, but those use a battery and different tech- they won't work.. luckily most Wacom styluses are EMR. Just double check that before you hit the purchase button You can also buy replacement nibs for some wacom pens that will fit s pens. If you want a matte screen protector for your galaxy tab, it's highly recommended to get either a Wacom pen or a Wacom nib for your s pen, as the texture of a matte screen protector will wear out the rubbery s pen nib since it was designed for a smooth glass smart tablet. I went this route because I wanted to keep the pen that fits my tablet, but with a proper tip instead of the soft one of the s pen In either case, the wacom one pen and/or Wacom one pen nibs are usually your best bet. I personally use an off brand Wacom one titanium nib for the s pen of my galaxy tab s3. Whether or not a wacom one nib will fit specific s pens from different tabs is... Hard to get straight answers from Google about, but the nibs are usually cheap enough it's worth the risk and I'm pretty sure the wacom one nibs fit the S4 just like they fit my s3 Besides the nibs or just getting the Wacom one pen, the staedtler noris pen is another very popular EMR pen that galaxy tab users will buy to use for art Edit: oh and it's worth mentioning, if it wasn't obvious already, that all s pens work with all galaxy tabs. S3 to S4. S7 to S2, it doesn't matter. They all use the same tech. The only caveats are that tabs from the s6 and onwards have batteries in them used exclusively for air commands that have nothing to do with drawing. They will work for drawing/writing even if the battery is dead. Lastly, the pens for the z fold series will work with anything as well, but they're extremely soft because they were designed for the folding screen tech- to the point that the system will stop you from using other EMR pens on the z fold phones with a big pop up warning. The tech is identical, but Samsung added that to try and stop people from accidentally ruining their screens on the z fold line Hope that was helpful!

Still considering buying the S4, does it hold up in 2023? I'm not too fussed about security updates as long as it's safe. Mainly interested in gaming, note taking and media streaming, S6 & 7 are out of my price range unfortunately but S4 still seems good

If you can get it for a good price, I still think it's fine You miss out on recent OS improvements but the performance and build offered here is still far better than the cheapo low/mid Samsung tabs I still use the S4 as my main tab

Since 2023 binge watch months Samsung and other company's products. Busy with life to pay attention till i decided to replace my 6 year owned Sammy j5 2016 phone about 4 months now. And man was my android 7 out of the loop. Snowballed - replaced my galaxy tab E with the S6's 2022 light model, brought a galaxy watch. Videos from within those 6 years inform what i missed!

I haven't specifically measured battery. As I don't use it as often as a phone, I'm less aware and can have it plugged in more often. That said, when I do find myself using it a lot, I only charge it every few days - sorry it's not more specific

I have ipad pro m1 and samsung s4. I think samsung s4 still have great performance and experince till now despite it runnin over 4 years. Nice job samsung 👍

Considering the s6 lite in my region is considerably more expensive, and OLED Screens & better speakers don't get obsolete, this vid convinced me to get the s4! (I can get it Trocafone refurbished for R$1500 while the s6l goes for double that 😭)

O principal em um tablet pra mim é a tela e como um usuario de um S5e (R.I.P) te garanto que o Super amoled é muuuito superior ao TFT do S6 Lite (minha cunhada tem um). O S4 tab ir ate o android 10 nao é exatamente um problema pq nao conheço nenhum app que nao funcione nessa versão. A esmagadora maioria pede android 5 ou superior. Se tu conseguir me dizer um que não funcione no android 10 te dou um doce. Então minha recomendação fortissima vai pro s4

Yep, just installed to test it, and Genshin works fine on the S4. It was slow to load on the S6 Lite, but the S4 is more capable - so far see no issues

Bought a tab s4 and it stucks on boot loop. Tried every possible way to fix it and nothing seems to work. Found out that this problem that drove me crazy alot of people are complaining about it and samsung doesn do anything about it . Not worth buying these last devices from samsung manufacture

Had both S6 lite and Tab S3. Performance is terrible. Cannot imagine a worse tablet S6 lite battery life slightly better. Planning to buy S4 now. If it's snappy as my Galaxy note 8 I'd be more than satisfied

100% can confirm the S6 s-pen works on the S4, and can magnetically attach too If you use a keyboard on your S4 though it won't be ideal as the s-pen latches onto the same magnets the keyboard clips onto

It's an extra layer that can help, especially on public wifi - but most likely not much different. Most issues will come from infected apps, downloads or links which comes down to not clicking stuff. Keeping Chrome or whatever web browser up to date will probably be the most important thing

The S6 Lite 2022 will most likely perform better than the S4 in most tasks other than gaming, and get updates for a good while yet - so pretty good value on that front. But I still prefer the S4 with it's much nicer OLED.

For a kiddo, the updates may be of benefit with the S6 Lite, as it gets up to Android 15 plus security updates, where the S4 is stuck on Android 10 The difference in gaming wouldn't be huge, it's mostly just the nicer looking screen in the S4 that I like :)

Strange - S6 light a worse performing, smaller way worse screen, less speakers, worse build tablet wins. What are you - crazy? LOL. There is not going to be life changing update as both are on newer UI. Which are same-ish. I love the build quality and when you hold it in your hand its a premium tactile experience of glass and smooth edges. None of the newer models have that. Its like a perfect partner to my recently replaced note 20 ultra (s23 ultra now). What is the problem with the pen, when you can use the phone's pen, as you always have your phone with you. To me performance and premium build and feel, awesome screen and sound wins, hands down. Its a better experience. Security updates for? What you have a bank vault in a tablet? You should not. Practical meaning cheap cuts?

Don't worry, I agree with you - since publishing I definitely prefer the S4 over the S6 Lite now The only benefit for most users was updates, and now that over, the S4 is better in every way and not missing all that much
