Wonderful watch. I never had a smart watch before, and I was in doubt to buy watch 7 or not due to the all negative battery life reviews. I finally bought 44 mm in October 2024, updated the software. I cannot be happier with it. I put the battery on power saver mode, and do 20 minutes exercise too with Samsung health active, every day it only consumes about 20-25% of battery. I have gestures off.

I have watch7 44mm. The battery veries so much from day to day. This morning it only lasted 12 hours and was down to 12% and the other days it will only lose 4%/h during sleep. AOD is off. Skin temps is off too at night.

Wish they would make a return with the pro series. Loved my Watch5 pro and battery life. Not a fan of how the Ultra looks.

This is abysmal. My 42mm 1st gen Galaxy Watch only drains 25% per day

I've been extensively tracking my Galaxy Watch 7's 44 mm battery performance over various scenarios to see how well it holds up. Here's what I found: 1. General Daily Use: With all health monitoring features turned on (heart rate, oxygen levels, and stress monitoring), and Always-On Display (AOD) turned off, the watch consumed around 2.3% battery per hour. This translates to approximately 43-44 hours of usage on a full charge. 2. Nighttime Monitoring: During sleep, the battery usage was around 2.7% per hour when the watch automatically tracked my sleep patterns. Over a night of 7.5 hours, it consumed about 20%, which is reasonable given the active health sensors. 3. Charging Efficiency: The watch charges quickly. A 20-minute charge in my car added about 35% to the battery, which is a major plus for on-the-go charging. 4. AOD Impact: Turning on the Always-On Display significantly increased battery consumption, averaging 4.5% per hour. This reduced the total estimated usage time to about 20-24 hours. 5. Practical Charging Schedule: With one 20-minute charge per day, the watch comfortably lasts through a full day and night of usage. When adding a second 20-minute charge every three days, the battery life extends significantly, making this a practical and efficient way to manage the watch's battery without frequent charging interruptions. Additional Note: I average around 11,000 steps per day, but I haven't tested the watch's battery usage during a workout session yet. Overall, the Galaxy Watch 7 has proven to be efficient, even with all features active, and offers flexible charging options that fit into a busy lifestyle.

In Summary, folks should buy the 44mm version over the 40mm. Also, do a mid-day charge. 👍

I have my 1 year old Watch 4 classic and thinking to upgrade, i am considering between ultra and 7 44mm, this use you explanied is exactly i get from my watch 4 classic with lot smaller battery and a less efficient chipset, and it is 1 year old, i need at least 1 night+1day (around 32 hrs) of battery life cuz i am a doctor and i need to track my sleep so before a 24hrs shift i need to see how much i slept in the night and if i can meanwhile the shift too, seems like this new watch 7 44mm even cannot give me that, ultra has more mAh but a brighter screen idk if it would be so different about the battery life

@@Splenium I also had the Watch 4 Classic 42mm before upgrading to the Watch 7, and for me, the battery life on the 4 was pretty bad. I used to take it off the charger at 6 AM (I didn’t even use it for sleep tracking), and by the end of the day, I would have around 20-15% battery left, with AOD completely off. For me, the upgrade was totally worth it. As I mentioned in my previous comment, without AOD, I easily get around 40 hours of continuous usage on a full charge. Personally, I prefer short charging sessions during my drives because I don’t need the watch while driving, so it works perfectly for me. If you need a full 2 days of continuous use because of your lifestyle as a doctor, you can simply charge it once every two days, which takes about an hour, during a time when you don’t need it. I don’t regret this purchase at all.
