I personally always struggle in choosing which watch I want, on the one hand i need my galaxy watch to tract all the stuff (sleep, steps, etc...) which doesn't allow me to wear a normal, stylish watch. There is no overlap. The ring is for those who don't want to wear a watch or just want to wear a traditional time piece and not a smartwatch. Using both to decrease error will be a very unusual and extreme case.

I think you missed a final scenario for the smart ring, in that you already have a nice/expensive watch and don't want to wear two watches. I would look forward to a smart bangle. Samsung has used the Ultra naming convention for over a decade. Apple first used it two years ago. This an evolution of the Gear Sport and the Galaxy Watch Pro. The latter of which came out before the Apple Watch Ultran and still has more features. This is why it helps to actually know tech, and not a single company.

Little late to this video, but I've watched a few reviews on the ring now and I don't think it was ever made to be a ring version of a smart watch, I think it was designed to be just for tracking health and fitness in a very subtle, convenient way. If it had a screen, in order for the screen to be usable it would be a much bigger ring and at that point I think it would become more inconvenient. Maybe they could find a way to add NFC on without increasing the size of the ring which would be very nice but tbh I don't think it's suppose to have NFC, or make calls, you can already manage calls without even needing to touch your phone using galaxy earbuds or a galaxy watch. I think this ring was literally just designed for health/fitness/sleep etc tracking in a very convenient and unobtrusive way.

Out of all the products Samsung has demoed, I think the Ring gave me the most interest. I don't need to use a bulky smartwatch to track my exercise, plus I can go swimming seamlessly and not worrying if my watch falls off.

I love the new products and design language of samsung, i was missing samsungs identity for the last years but now im confident they have found their new way and they have new cool and futuristic looking devices as always. Samsung deserves more respect from the community

Not to be that guy but the identity issue is still there. Fold 4 was barely different from Fold 5. You can count on one hand the differences between Fold 5 and 6 and half of them are stuff we saw at the last Apple events. The watch would have had a unique feel if it wasn’t so iWatch like. It’s almost a dupe of it. The earbuds that are usually uniquely designed just feel lackluster looking back at what used to be. The identity issue is still there and even worse but what makes it more obvious is the lack of unique innovation
