Just changed my Galaxy watch for the active 2 44mm in aluminium black (or a very dark blue) and it’s superb. I thought the original watch although excellent, was a bit heavy especially when cycling and walking, and I still wanted a good watch to record my data plus using during my everyday life The active 2 is in my view, is better. It’s a lot lighter and connects to the Samsung app seamlessly while doing everything the galaxy watch does. Had this for 1 day now and set up my emails, calendars and everything else plus just called the wife from the watch, really clear. Also just added a few more apps. So all in all, this is the one to get. I did have the Amazfit which I sent back as I didn’t want to be using two watches when 1 would do. It was again a decent watch but the supporting app was useless as it kept losing connectivity hence wanting to stay with my Samsung phone while using the excellent watch app with no WIFI or connectivity issues. I love the strap also, comfortable and with the excess tucking under the strap, it doesn’t get caught up when out and about.

The reason the watch can't find your nearest cinema is because you have location off.

That's not the reason at all. I have location turned on on mine and Bixby can't find nearby places. It's simply not supported. You can actually see this in the video because after the command was given, Bixby loaded up the Smartthings capsule, which is used for smart home control and not finding nearby places. When I first got my watch about a month ago, there was a Yelp capsule. Samsung for whatever reason removed it.

Its because the watch is limited on IOS. On an Android watch, finding the nearest cinema would work.

I have never had a smart watch and my watches have been the Radio Controlled watches for precise time. I am now looking at buying a smart watch, which will obviously do the same thing in correct time. I like to wear my watch 24/7 even in a shower or really hot bath. The Samsung Active 2 says water resistant to 50 meters, is this so and is it okay used in a hot bath???? People also state that you NEED to use water rejection on the watch and not sure why if states 50m water resistant. If you have covered this, I apologize but love my Samsung S20+ phone and want a Samsung watch but have limited funds. Help and advice much appreciated. PS.. Will probably not use the watch for calling or texting etc.

Im glad you liked the video. I use my galaxy watches both the active 2 and the original without any screen projector, there is not a single scratch, even though I have been quite rough and on occasion clumsy, the gorilla glass is exceptional quality and very strong.

Was checking for smartwatches with Sapphire glass first, found the Huawei GT 2 Pro, but that one has significantly less options than this one on paper. But i really dont want it to scratch at work etc.. Also been looking for Sapphire glass screenprotectors, but there seem to be 0 verified ones around i think? Been 'researching' into smartwatches for the past 2 days, started with comparing ~320 smartwatches to check for Sapphire glass, had 4 leftovers of wich the GT 2 Pro had the best price/quality ratio but yea, no wifi/app compatibility for things like Spotify :/

I loved my S2 and some other Samsung watch I had. Why, because I could leave my phone and play music from the watch. My S2 did have a number so I would forward calls to it but I am not paying for extra access anymore. I just ordered this watch after reviewing many other watches all day. Samsung has been solid for me when it comes to watches so I agree with your comments.

The best review ive watched! ive been searching and searching for a video that would help me find a smartwatch compatible on my samsung s9+, that can make and answer calls by just using the smartwatch, and ive found your video for 2 weeks that ive been searching. Most videos ive watched are just reviews of the specs but no demos on what the watch can do on calls. I almost decided to switch into iphone once the contract plan is done just to be able to get an apple watch, but personally, i prefer samsung. Thank you! Keep it up and congrats! I purchased the Active 2 on May 9th, and I went "swimming" with it for the first time on July 1st. It has a swim mode feature and is advertised as a device you can swim with - up to 50 feet for 30 minutes; I did neither of those things. I was wading in the pool, and after about 10 minutes, I noticed my watch was not working anymore. I went into the house, dried it off, and the back cover of the watch came loose and came off (it looked like it was glued on and the glue wasn't strong enough to hold it anymore). I took a picture of it, and I contacted Samsung. Right away the rep started saying that it's water resistant and not waterproof. I had a sinking feeling I was going to be in for a fight. And sure enough, I received a bill on July 7th for $219.79 - THAT IS ALMOST WHAT I PAID FOR THE WATCH! They said there was water damage to the motherboard, so my year warranty on the device is null and void. I've spoken to three different customer service reps, and Samsung is refusing to budge on this. One supervisor informed me I would be better off buying a new watch. She also said to file a complaint online, but there is nowhere to do that. The agent could not find the link for me. The agent then gave me a number to call, but it is no longer in service. I cannot believe this is happening. If anyone has any advice about how I can get a resolution to this, I'd really appreciate it. Thank you.

Yes, it uses bluetooth 5.0, and that supports 2 devices at once. The Galaxy Watch in contrast however does not; it's running Bluetooth 4.something and only supports 1 connected device. I just found out you can watch KZbin on this thing too, just wow!

If your phone has bt 5.0 it will drain even less. Depending on your phone obviously, maybe 10% extra a day beacause of the bluetooth maybe

You can connect to non saumsung phones. I was using this watch with the Huawei P30 Pro and now I’m using it with the iPhone 11 Pro Max. No connection issues at all.

Great review - I got the LTE version - and when I am using it I am getting maybe 16 hours out of it. This was making use of some of the other features - like GPS (running) , Music player (onboard music) the 44mm sized watch - so a big difference!

Hi Maria. There is a 40 mm version as well in the Samsung Galaxy Watch Active 2. That one is good for someone who has smaller wrist. Or just the prefer smaller size watch.

The watch vibrates when I scroll to the end of a list/menu it vibrates to indicate it as well as shows this visually. When I use the touch bezel too for each scroll it vibrates. Some apps also causes the watch to vibrate. I would like to turn off all these vibrations as it becomes annoying and uncomfortable. Can you assist?
