I'm in the process of switching from a fold 4 to a s25 base model and a galaxy tablet. The fold was cool. But in daily use, it's more trouble than it's worth. A base model s24 with an s9 tablet is cheaper, and way more practical.

Switched from iPhone to zfold 3 several years ago, upgraded to the zfold 4 since then. The zfold is so much better than the iPhone, it was a similar feeling as going from blackberry to the iPhone 15 years ago. The battery life and screen crease in the zfold haven't caused any complaints or issues for me. The size of the zfold screen is an absolute game changer. One note that no one mentions when they review the zfold is that, when folded, it is far smaller and more compact than an iPhone. It fits in your pocket so much better, and then you can fold the phone out and it's the size of a small tablet. Unless iPhone moves into a foldable phone too, I could never switch back into an iPhone as they feel dated and aged compared to a zfold.

I also appreciate the size of the 6 and symmetrical front. Most other folds have this awkward hinge side with weird corners/bezels that i can't unsee - it looks out of proportion. I upgraded from the 5 due to a good trade-in deal and found this to be a polished upgrade. It just feels different. In front, it's like having an iPhone mini that converts into a mini tablet.

I bought a Pixel 9 Pro Fold over the Z fold 6 because of the narrow screen. Opening the screen is a rarity reserved for sharing, watching movies, tracking weather on radar, etc. For a quick pop out the phone use like a text or call (majority of the time), the front screen is in use, and giving up THAT valuable real estate was the deciding factor. I love my S24, buy Sammy got it wrong here.

I would say if you're coming from zfold 4 or Newer, don't upgrade, and most people who have a zfold 3 even I wouldn't suggest upgrading unless the trade in deals r great as they where during pre order, but I would say it's a good upgrade from the zfold 3, the zfold 2 to 3 was the biggest upgrade and while zfold 3 to 4 seemed incremental but when compared to zfold 6 the difference from zfold 4 to zfold 6 seems such smaller than zfold 3 to 4, you gained better camera which was higher mp and you gained an addition 3× telephoto, the outer display for the first time got slightly wider and once again it slightly got wider but I still want it to be a bit more wider, but from the zfold 3 to zfold 6 cover display is a day and night difference, camera and more efficient processor. But to be honest I don't know if I would call it a necessary upgrade because you get all the galaxy AI on it, and still same old no spen inside the phone the same old 4400mAh battery still, if your coming from the zfold 2 definitely upgrade. Samsung narrow outer display is the biggest issue. Wider outer display would solve so much problem, would give us more room for a wider battery and an 8" inner display, would give it more room to include the spen, would shave off thickness if you increase the width of the device and would give it more room to fit a parascope lens. The removable of narrow display and making it a traditional candy bar smartphone solves all these shirt coming. Zfold would become perfect if they hopefully finally get rid of the super narrow outer display. Hopefully, the zfold 7 will gain a 6.5" outer display with an 18:9 aspect ratio I beg samsung please, which unfolds into 8.3" display, larger than 5000mAh battery, 65W fast charging please I beg you Sammy which I know won't happen atleast give us s24 ultra camera instead of the s25/+ or the same camera sensor as zfold 4, integrated spen with spen support on cover display, ip68 please while not rising the price that too us is an $1899 phone at this price there should be no sacrifices, I would say because of the compromises it has it shall cost as much as the s24 ultra.

I get all the gripes in the reviews, but honestly, I'm just ready to try something new. Had every note since the first, great cams, great tech.. but just ready for something new. Yea the fold 6 cam isn't 200 mega pixels, but it still takes good pics for social media and regular use. Not really Interested in passing on the fold 6 and going from the s23 ultra to the 24 ultra just for better cam and same old stuff, plus AI...my fold 6 will be here next week and I'm excited

Great honest review ! In my opinion, the only things missing from the Fold 6 to be perfect, are 3 things from S24 Ultra : battery capacity, charge speed, periscope len ! I believe the high price tag is due to getting 2 samsung flagship devices at once : one mobile phone & one tablet :)

Honestly, if you're not tied down by the Apple ecosystem, I'd do it. The Fold 6 is such a technological improvement over any iphone in my opinion. Really, any Samsung phone is better than the iPhone and this is coming from someone who has been using iPhone since the original iPhone. A lot of Fold 6 reviews compares it to either the previous fold or another folding device or the S24 Ultra, which isn't fair if you're deciding between an iPhone and a Fold 6.

I have this phone but my sim is staying in the OnePlus Open. This is an occasional weekend phone for me. I agree with you on the fold being a great device, but the battery life, charging speeds and the camera are enough of a deal breaker in terms of daily driving it all the time. To anyone reading this? It is a great device and if you like it? Awesome. Myself personally? Kinda feels like Samsung is twiddling its thumbs and watching the competition blaze ahead instead of being the foldable zeitgeist it once was.

I think i know why I'm still on my fold 4...i realized folds might not be for me.. the mirroring of screens i never use because i want my outsider screen to look just like my inside for consistency seamless transition, i never fold my phone and prop it up to watch KZbin the smaller screen is not very good like that and the main big screen when watching KZbin has big black bars which ultimately gives you a normal phone sideways...so I'm forced to zoom in to get the "full screen " experience, i purchased a fold pen...never used it lol and u have to put it somewhere and not lose it what i do like is rhe multi tasting i find myself many times having 3 apps open at the same time. But perhaps for these reasons i have held off on upgrading.. also they really don't look very much different from the 4 to 5 to 6.

Agree totally about the form factor. I love the size when folded, it's perfect for one-handed use. Once you get used to it, it works just fine for typing. The S24U was way too wide and bulky for me. Traded it in for my Fold 6. Typing on the cover screen now and no issues. I got Crafted Black, it's slick AF.❤

For me, the no built in s-pen and the fact you can't run dex on the inner display are 2 major Ls. My Galaxy Tab s8+ is my most used device for work, productivity, creativity, and even writing, and the included S pen and DEX Mode is one big reason I love it. Huge missed opportunity by Samsung.

The external screen of the Fold 6 is wider than that of the iPhones Mini, and narrower than that of the iPhone 11 Pro by 3mm, and for some people, is actually perfect (not for me), except that, the internal screen of a Fold is not 100% safe and you are not immune to unpleasant surprises. The advantage of Folds like the Xiaomi Mix Fold 4, Honor Magic V3, OnePlus Open, Vivo X Fold 3 Pro, is that in case of accidents with the internal screen, you have a completely and normally usable smartphone. In fact, I think Samsung should keep the format of the Fold 6, and release a Fold "Ultra" with the form factor of the Vivo X Fold 3 Pro, with 2cm more in height (to have a rectangular internal screen and not a square one), with 5000-5500mAh battery🔋capacity, better camera sensor, and integrated Spen. Meanwhile, for the moment, my Galaxy S Ultra + Tab S standard combo is perfect for me. 🙏🏽

Though i know S24 ultra should meet these requirements, but the size of that phone seems to be too big. That's why contemplating for a fold 6 but don't know if it'll last whole day. when folded it seems a good size and compatible for a one hand use. Also dual sim to handle two phone numbers and numerus calls.

I bought a Samsung Fold4 for £1440 ($1900) in the UK. After 18 months, still in its warranty period, the hinge stopped working and the phone stopped opening up fully flat. When I took the phone to Samsung, they asked for £600 to repair it saying that a cosmetic scratch on the outer cover of the phone voided the warranty on the hinge which is nowhere near the scratch. Worse, they sent my phone with all its data to a 3rd party dodgy repair company without my knowledge and that dodgy company started sending me ransom mail and text messages asking for £600 to return my phone. RIP OFF! SCAM! DON'T BUY ANY SAMUNG FOLD PHONE, they are very expensive yet very cheap in quality. BETTER YET, DON'T BUY ANY SAMSUNG PRODUCT.

I find that this channel tried to sugar coat some of the cons of the fold 6 and never flat out calls anything on it bad ... the dude still loves it even thought it's just a mediocre device. Battery died within 3-4 months and turned slow, now have to replace thermal paste every 6 months , Macbook still going on with almost same battery life, just a little bit heating issue.
