Agree, I got z fold 3, 3 years ago, and now for me a foldable phone is a must, I can't imagine playing videogames in a small bar format screen anymore, also, when I'm eating outside alone, which happens certainly 4-5 days every week, I like to watch KZbin, and again watching youtube in a small ugly aspect ratio smartphone screen is a NO GO for me :P

This is the first time I've seen the pen holder, not that I look at folding phone reviews much anyways and got to say it's a good idea, but also not the best of ideas as it makes the phone slant when you put it down. I remember the day I had a galaxy note 10 and the pen/stylus was I believe attached to the side of the case? Those ideas from before are better than this and even the phones(be it the note or not) at the stylus fit inside the phone. People who want simple if that's their target shouldn't buy phones like these.

I disagree, I thought I would acclimate to the narrow outer display of the Z Fold 5 but it honestly sucks. Insta reels get cut off, comments are awful to read and so is vertical comic strips such as webtoons. They are awful to read. Having a bigger inner display would also be nice reading 2-page manga. So yeah, thinner and a little wider would be appreciated.

Well, I didn't upgrade to z fold 4 from my z fold 3, as the upgrade was not worth it, neither did with 5, just waiting to see if they improve the problem with plastic peeling off in the main screen, which THEY DID, z fold 4 has less this problem, 5 even less, and probably in 6 will be anecdotic. As you say trade is crazy, I got an offer for 1750€ in my country, and then if I give them my z fold 3, the z fold 6 is going to cost less than 1400€ for me, which for a 3 generation change is, IMHO worth it

I’m not an Apple fanboy I love Samsung however, on the reason why I got Apple is because of the ecosystem. Everything syncs, iPad, Mac’s, ect even simple things like sending PDFs through messenger. I know friends who have jobs where they required them to have an iPhone at least for a work phone. 60hz doesn’t mean nothing compared to that ecosystem. Samsung is amazing in its own territory!! you just can’t compare the two

I am upgrading from the Fold 4 only because Samsung Care+ will no longer be available for my phone in a month. I do not want to risk having it without a warranty. The internal display of my current Fold 4 inexplicably died after 14 months. Also, you will not get such a good trade-in deal for the Fold 4 in a few weeks after the release of the Fold 6. So I had better replace my Fold 4 now and get a good deal for the Fold 6.

This is misleading. If you are switching because of software updates while owning a fold 4/fold 5, then just wait for the updates. So disappointed with Samsung. So yeah, misleading video for people thinking of switching or upgrading their phones. (Unless you have a super old phone, maybe you can try fold 6. Or fold 5 which will be cheaper soon).

I have a Fold 4 and can't squeeze the trigger on the 6. Not enough improvements IMO to spend another $1k. That's after all the discounts. Camera tech is old, battery is too small, front screen is too narrow. I constantly have typos when using it on a squished keyboard. The weight and thickness lag behind the competition. I'm looking forward to the Pixel Fold 2, Xiomi Mix 4 and the One Plus Open 2. The SW on Sammy devices is pretty nice, but Samsung is collaborating with Google on the AI. I'm pretty sure that will come over to the Pixel Fold 2. Can't wait!

Great review, many thank! I will be switching from the Fold4. 4:57 the Fold 6 fits nicely into the pocket and into the hand. You can actually use the screen with one hand. Why would you need two huge screens? The smaller one is perfect for quickly checking train connections, taking calls, quick message with one hand. For everything else, there is the large internal screen.

When you say the other folds have a "much more usable" cover display, you're completely missing the point of the cover display. If I'm using my phone with two hands, it's open. If my phone is not open, it's in one hand. Therefore, a screen narrow enough to easily swipe type on is ideal.

I've lost faith on folding screens. I have a Flip 4 and the screens have broken at the fold...for no reason. No fall, no hard usage...just went black and then. The top screen went out. Had to replace it 3x already. S24 Ultra, here I come.

I definitely do like the foldables but at the same time it kinda sucks feeling like it could break at any point and having to be extra careful. As a long time Android user and specifically of Samsung phones I still haven't got off the fence for my first foldable device. I just think my S24 Ultra is better in many ways but the Fold 6 is getting closer to what I need in my first foldable phone. I like that they squared off the phone and screen similar to the Note series of phones. I like that the phone opens completely flat on the Fold 6 which also dramatically reduces the crease which is important to me. The cameras are improved although not on the same level as the S24 Ultra so I'd still like to see some upgrades in that department maybe for the Fold 7. My main beef is the tiny battery in the Fold 6 especially considered that their direct competition can somehow fit much larger batteries in even thinner phones which is puzzling. I do like the build quality and software on the Fold 6 vs their competition not to mention the software and security support and close relationship with Google but I expect them to really step up the battery size and charging speed for the Fold 7. I also need the Armour glass on the front screen which helps eliminate reflections and scratches. Getting closer but I guess I'll have to wait until next year to see if I get pushed off the fence, sort of speak.

As a Fold6 1TB/iPhone 13 Pro Max daily user; here is a brief summary of the issues with it. The phones battery drains really fast, so you always need to bring a charger or battery pack. I tested this with both my phones, charged them both to 100% then started playing Pokemon go on both, after 10mins iPhone battery was 98%, the fold was 86%. The corners are pointy and holding it in your hand can cause pain due to the point digging into your muscles if you're just sitting on the couch watching KZbin videos for example. The front screen is too small in terms of width, the inner screen can be damaged with just a finger nail, so using an s pen is not really advisable. They have horrible resell value, here they retail for 1TB model for $3299 but on eBay, brand new 1TB go for $1300. Most apps don't have native support for the aspect ratio on the large screen, so it's zoomed in, only viable if you split the large screen with another app. The cameras on the phone are sub-par and don't take that great of photos, as the bar was set with the s24 ultra. Overall I had high hopes for it, but end of the day the 24 ultra would be a better suit and if you want a phone that is the size of a tablet; just buy a tablet.

There will be hardly much difference. People shouldn't get too hungry up on cameras unless you are going from low quality to an expensive phone with some fancy camera features. They aren't as impressive as you think.

it depends, tbh, how important is for you to have a "tablet-like" screen when you watch youtube or play games?, for me is a MUST HAVE nowadays. If you are into photography maybe s24u can make better photos, but IMHO there's not much difference for the human eye, for non professional photos at least

I had the fold 4 then fold 5 then the s24 ultra. I missed the fold so I bought a used fold 4 because I missed the bigger screen. I can't get rid of my s24 ultra tho because of camera and nice big proper candibar aspect. I am still torn. Thinking on keeping both but there issues now with which phone to pair my watch and my bank accounts (2 step verification) and Google pay, which phone to take when i go out. Sheesh, first world problems lol. If only Samsung would have delivered a proper phone. Lol.

Samsung notes didn't improve that much. The note 10 was probably the best phone I had. They along with apple only do slight changes whether you can notice them or not. It's about keeping things fresh and up to date.

Every year, I notice the same pattern: Samsung launches a new phone, and tech influencers immediately criticize it for being too expensive and lagging behind the competition. Had a fold 3 and It just started having issues after a real hard drop. No busted screen or led bleeding. But the hinge did give me problems. So I took advantage of a ton of promotions at the end of it all I ended up temping a s24 ultra until my fold 6 comes in and I'll give the ultra to my daughter. all in all gonna get a 3200 credit on 3 phones. Appreciate all the ridiculous promotions Samsung gives its users great company

Full transparency, the $100 Samsung pre-order credit only works if your subtotal comes to $800 or more. That bummed me out as I was ordering and when I went to the "checkout" mode, the extra $100 credit was removed each time. That was a bummer, being that I'm a Samsung loyalist since the Note 9. 😞 BTW, I was trading in the Z-Fold 6, doing the T-Mobile contract and received the extra $120/off. I remember when I got the Z-Fold 4, after stackable trade-ins, I only paid $350'ish subtotal. But, I didn't see the opportunity to stack trade-ins on the 5 and neither on the 6.

They're too completely different style of phones. If you want high resolution camera and built an s pen, 24 Ultra is fantastic. However, if you want to truly expansive screen to do multimedia and gaming, wish some of the built-in AI stuff, with a very strong and thin and light build, you can't go wrong with the fold 6

The things that stop me from making the jump: really unclear what the warranty is like with those and the risk, and honestly the Samsung software is pretty amazing now especially Dex... No one cares about those Chinese phones that don't work here in the US. Why even compare them to the zfold 6 when they are not here in the USA. The bottom line is that NO one can beat Samsung's software(especially One Plus) , build, customer support and trade in deals. get one those Chinese phones and once something happens. Try getting it fixed. good LUCK! You will probably have to send it back to China. One Plus open has had sooo many problems in terms of durability. people are reporting that their inner screen cracked right down the middle for no reason. Send it in for repair and you're looking at 4-5 weeks before you get it back. Plus they have an outdated chip set. NO THANK YOU!
