Other than the 8 gen 3 difference, slightly wider outer display and a flatter hinge and ip48 with slightly highest brightness, it's essentially the same phone.

Former fold 4 user, i would have still stuck with the 4 if it wasn't for the bristles issue. I upgraded because they got rid of the bristles, its brighter, 7 years is more than plenty, and the ultra wide camera is better.

I find the 4 to 6 jump is substantial, and getting $1k for it on a trade seemed worth it for me. Either way the cameras are a disappointment compared to my s23 ultra that I still keep around for pictures.

I switched from the fold 4 to the fold 6 mainly for the brightness of the screen and larger profile. I also noticed the fold 6 is noticeably lighter. I overall pretty minimal change but I'm happy with the upgrade.

The mics sounded much better on the fold 6. The biggest difference for me who's had every fold from the 3 on and the 6 being bigger on the front display was the selling point for me.

I'm on the fold 5, probably switching to the s25 ultra when it's released this coming winter. Im paying $10 monthly for an extended warranty on the fold 5 bc im afraid at some point something will go wrong. Never had that feeling with the Ultra lineup. Or maybe i should wait for the fold 7, I do enjoy the larger screen.

In summary they are the same . I just returned my fold 6 and got the open . So much better . People love to get ripped off by Samsung and apple and they feel happy about it lol .

Despite all the gripes, the Z Fold ultimately has the simplest, most tasteful design out of all the existing foldable phones. Design plus extended software support will win the bulk of consumers over.

Ive got the OnePlus open. The front screen is bigger and easier to use but you miss the slimness of the Samsung. I think Samsung still does a better job with software and the SPen support is nice. I traded my 5 in to get the 6, and think the 6 is a better device.

Am i the only one who knew from the beginning that the left is Fold 4? 4 usually has more processed images while the one on 6 are more natural. It all comes down to the personal preference

They're going to be offering some great freebies with the folds as Huawei have literally just destroyed the market with their Tri-fold xt 10" phone with 3 displays! I just ran over my fold 4 so went to Sammy to see what they're offering in the UK. To start, £300 trade in for my squashed zfold4 (Google are offering £714 trade in on their Fold). A free s9 FE tablet and a Chromebook Go, half price care+ and a free case. Totally £1530 with the APP5 5% off voucher. Now I just saw this video, ill do my own test with my fold 4 but if the cameras are worse like it is in this video, I'll be returning it straight away and going for the Huawei who've taken 1 million pre orders in the first 24hrs, currently on nearly 5million units, wow.

The only problem i had with z fold 4 was the hinge not letting me open my phone all the way. I had to get it fixed. Since the z folds 5 and 6 have thinner hinges, did that fix the problem? That's the only reason i would upgrade

Yeah the bristles stip gets stuck in the hinge and doesnt open fully. And the flex cables die very quickly and wifi BT then screens and then sensors go bad. I just got the flex cables replaced and hinge cleaned.. It is perfect.. all for just $50 can't believe it.. I brought a z6 but might cancel the order and stick to fold 4

I don't think it's really because Samsung isn't capable of being innovative anymore, it's just that they start to look real lazy when compared to Oppo/Vivo/Xiaomi's latest devices. When you're the market leader, you don't just casually let your competition blow by you in terms of hardware design. Samsung's current focus on iterative updates, increasing prices and cost cutting will probably catch up to them if they don't put the foot on the pedal back real soon.

Trust me those other foldables don't compare all they have going for them is that they look more like a traditional smart phone when closed. Ie same aspect ratio and thickness. Most of the folks have only 2 positions for the hinge open and close so that half open feature on the zfold is pretty much non-existent on most foldables also no other foldable has stylis support.

Samsung never was innovative in the phone market. They always been gimmicky. My Z fold 4 is the last samsung device I'm going to own. Plus if you got z fold 4 you can wait till the fold 7. I say this because of software updates.
